I've been looking for some winter boots for ages - CAT Anna boots were recommended on a thread when i asked for suggestions but were a bit out of my price range. But i've just come across them for £55 here -

Has anyone heard of/bought from this website? Are they too good to be true?

Thanks

Usc is a big company so I'd say go for it. I paid 100 for mine last month

Wenchelda · 04/01/2014 12:29

oh ok - i've never heard of them! Thank you :-) £5 for delivery but still makes them lots cheaper than anywhere else i've seen them.

If you've got the boots, can i ask a couple of questions please? ... what is the sizing like? Is the furry lining all the way down to toes/on sole etc? Are they as warm and waterproof as i hope?!

USC is fine ..been around ages.

bishboschone · 04/01/2014 13:53

I just looked ,they are cheap because they are size 3 , not many people have size 3 feet.

StatisticallyChallenged · 04/01/2014 15:27

Warm waterproof and standard sizing lining goes all the way down the leg. Quite stiff feet but great once broken in. I walked through big puddles the other day inmine

AdorabeezleWinterpop · 04/01/2014 17:13

USC is legit. I worked in one when I was a student!

Wenchelda · 04/01/2014 17:33

Hmm They had size 5 available when I first found them - guess I wasn't quick enough!

You have learnt a lesson .. Never post a bargain on mumsnet .. There are so many people that read and don't post who have probably bought them .

Cat Anna are fab! Chunky soles, very waterproof, warm and toasty.
They can feel tight across the top of the foot (near to the ankle) to start with but do 'give' fairly quickly. 2 winters on mine still look like new and I wear them LOTS when the weather starts to worsen.
They can feel heavy (cos they are, being chunky and made to last) but you adjust quickly and they are a great workout for your legs or that's what I tell myself!
Walked 3 miles in snow during that bad winter - feet dry and no blisters
You won't be disappointed!
Watch ebay too as often peeps buy next size up and end up selling whilst still brand new (or buy correct size but feel they are tight and sell)

I love the timberland Nellie but find they are quite a slim fit

Keep an eye on amazon and Javari too as prices fluctuate at times

Size 3 people grab at £32 bargain in black!
(Mardy fur is the old version of Anna)

MissWimpyDimple · 04/01/2014 18:54

They are beautiful but evil until broken in. Beware!

Rooners · 04/01/2014 20:21

USC is now part of sports direct...like field and trek - sorry, I wouldn't touch their companies with a bargepole as any sort of returns are a proper nightmare.

I mean some of the stuff is ace but you have to get lucky and the right size etc has to arrive undamaged which is a big ask when you pack like scooby doo.

ChishandFips33 · 04/01/2014 22:32

which is a big ask when you pack like scooby doo
Haha Rooners, love this!

Theonlyoneiknow · 04/01/2014 23:15

I am à size three, would these be too nippit in a three?

Are they mid calf?

Swithering swithering !!

Theonlyoneiknow · 04/01/2014 23:28

Also, if you sign up to the amazon fashion emails they will send you a 20% off code which works on these boots taking them down to £26 for a black pair in a size 3
