Jumper dress with leggings or tights?

I've just bought a chunky charcoal grey jumper dress but not sure what to wear with it. Would leggings make it all a bit heavy? But then just tights might make it look like I'm just wearing a long jumper and nothing else!
What would you wear with it and what colour?

I'd wear black leggings and boots but then I wear leggings as tights anyway and don't own any tights these days! I disliked the way they used to roll up and cut me in half around the middle!!

How baggy is your jumper dress?

InTheRedCorner · 03/01/2014 22:06

I prefer leggings but also wear tights if I want a different colour to black.

I agree with the rear you in two point about tights.

lifesgreatquestions · 03/01/2014 22:06

Ido both, with exactly your fear in mind. If I think it's ok to look like a long jumper then I'll wear tights, if I need to look more covered up I'll wear leggings.

Thank you. The dress is not baggy, it kind of hugs my body in a cosy way not clingy/skimpy as it's quite thick.

If it looks more like a dress than a long tunic top then I'd wear it with opaque tights, if the dress was grey I'd probably choose black tights.
If it looks like more of a long tunic top I'd wear leggings.

Jemster · 03/01/2014 22:10

Ok I think it was described as a tunic on website so think probably leggings will look best.

What Duck said.

I have three, and only one looks OK with tights; it's more of a dress shape/length. The other two are more shapeless/tunic-style, and shorter, so need leggings underneath.

beanandspud · 03/01/2014 23:44

I prefer leggings but depends on the length and also how thick the knit is.

Really thick tights will be fine. 100 denier wool ones. Providing it's longer than just past your bum.

Where is it from? I'm looking for some nice cosy dresses myself.

Coumarin I got it in the sale from Monsoon. It's just above knee length. I will look out for some thick wool tights as I don't have any.
