Need suggestions for a top with this skirt please...

I'm going to a party next week, and planning to wear this skirt, with black opaque tights and black heels. I am struggling to find something to go with it. I am fairly slim (10/12) with generous norks (32F). My arms are quite good, except I have a bit of wrinkling at the top of my boobs and under the upper arms (from weight loss) so I tend not to wear sleeveless tops. Any suggestions as to a good top to wear please? The skirt is grey with sparkly sequins, just above the knee.
TIA
Smile

Something plain and a bit dressed down would be good - a black silk t-shirt, or a 'posh' grey sweatshirt, like Whistles do so well.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it's out of stock, boo.

I do have a black sheer blouse but I think it will be too loose, this skirt needs something more fitted I think.

Any more ideas?....

ooooh no help at all but I love the skirt! Where's it from?

Mumtoh · 03/01/2014 18:07

It was from H & M, but last year I'm afraid!

What about this one:

Personally, I think a lace top plus lace skirt wouldn't work.

plain black one you've posted would go fine, but not sure how nice the fabric would be.

MadAboutHotChoc · 03/01/2014 18:53

I would go for a lovely plain jumper - in either grey, plum, emerald or purple.

MadAboutHotChoc · 03/01/2014 18:54

I like the idea of a plain silky tshirt too.

nilbyname · 03/01/2014 19:23

Defo light grey fine knit would be perfect .

SorrelForbes · 03/01/2014 19:33

I wore a grey and black sequin skirt on NYE with a fitted burgundy vest top and a fitted black (very fine knit) cardigan.

Mumtoh · 03/01/2014 23:50

Goodness I love the two lacy tops! but I agree with Remus I don't think they would go with a lacy skirt. I'm sure I have something else in my wardrobe they'd go with though Wink

I think I might order the t shirt I posted the link to, and carry on looking. Can't visualise a jumper with it, to a party. Or am I being daft?

Would this be too much?

This is a wee bit pricey but lovely:

DrNick · 04/01/2014 00:09

plain blak t shirt

GoodnessKnows · 04/01/2014 00:45

Agreed. The lacy ones I've digested would clash (overkill as well as not identical pattern as skirt). Tightish long sleeved top would work v well. Plainer beautiful quality something. I got a boy carried away looking at M&S sale for you. Lol

DrNick · 04/01/2014 08:26

I have two sequin skirts and that's how i do them. Plain tops

Bonsoir · 04/01/2014 08:39

Since the skirt is tight, you need to wear a slightly looser top. A very fine pale knit would look good.

Mumtoh · 04/01/2014 10:27

Thanks to all for the suggestions, soon I love that 'pricier' top, but I have a bit of an issue with the top of my arms...

Goodness easy to get carried away! I do it all the time!

Anyone got any links to fine knits they think would be good? TIA
