and leave the rest - no-one sees it except you so no-one will ever know

Sorry- probably not what you want to hear pruni but I find with my partner's pumps- he's a big vans slip on fan- that once they're smelly they remain so no matter what. If you find a solution let me know- he's already mourning this years month old pair...
