Length of hush ruched skirt vs baukjen karlie

Hi

I want to get one of the ruched skirts and wondering how long they are as the hush one looks very short in the photo and I don't have the legs for a short skirt. I'm 5'4" and would like something close to knee length.

Thanks

Good question - I'd like to know this too. Also I've been looking at the Me & Em ruched skirt - the short black one but this looks very short on the website.

Francois · 02/01/2014 09:10

Oh I hadn't even seen the me and em one and I love their stuff. But again looks very short.

I wonder if it's ruched up lots and if it was slightly less ruched would look longer? Anyway, let's hope someone who has tried them lets us know.

Just wanted to post that I recently got the Hush ruched skirt and I LOVE it (might even pick up another before they sell out). I never thought I would get on with it as I normally try to hide my bum and the skirt is quite figure-hugging, but something about the design/cut is extremely flattering.

Bumblebzz · 02/01/2014 09:55

Meant to say, the Hush one is not overly short at all.

carrie74 · 02/01/2014 10:09

I've got the Baukjen one and the Me&Em longer one. The Me&EM one in terms of quality dicks all over the Baukjen one - much thicker fabric (the Baukjen one is almost see through when stretched. Haven't tried the Hush one, but I'd definitely recommend Me&Em.

ElizabethBathory · 02/01/2014 10:24

I have the Hush one and at 5'5" it's at least four inches above my knees most of the time. I can pull it down to just above my knees but it rides up because of the ruching so looks fairly short. I love it, it's so comfy and useful.

Floisme · 02/01/2014 10:27

I can't help re Hush and Baukjen, I'm afraid. (I assumed they would be above the knee and I don't have the legs any more.) But I agree with Carrie that the longer Me and Em skirt is fab. I know it's pricier but theirs is the only jersey fabric I've ever had that hasn't bobbled. It finishes just below the knee on me and I'm 5'3 and the ruching makes the length easy to adjust. It did ride up a bit at first but that has now settled down. It's my favourite skirt in the world at the momen.

wools · 02/01/2014 12:20

I like the look of the me&em longer one and would like to wear it just above the knee. I am 5ft 5 and size 12. What size would work best - m/l?

duende · 02/01/2014 12:36

I don't have the answer but is the hush one not out of stock?

IamInvisible · 02/01/2014 12:39

I'm 5ft4 and have the Hush one. It is no where near knee length, but I wear with really, really thick tights.

I love it too, it's one of the best items of clothing I've bought in ages. I hope they restock.

ygritte · 02/01/2014 13:22

I ordered the hush one and returned it as it's too short for me (I'm 5'2"). For evening it would be fine in length, but the jersey material stuck it in the daywear category for me. I do wear minis with tights but this didn't look like it cost £35 either.
Wish I'd got the Baukjen one at the time as it seemed longer.

The H&M one mentioned in another thread is completely see through.

LittleG69 · 02/01/2014 13:35

I've got the Hush one, I'm 5'3. I dont find it too short; it can be adjusted to just above the knee (on me) or shorter. I'm a size 12 and bought the M/L which means that it doesnt tend to ride up much. Maybe I have short legs?! (I need a 30" inside leg in jeans)

I love it - really versatile and I'd like another colour.

Bumblebzz · 02/01/2014 13:50

Is the me and em one this: "Box Pleat Pencil Skirt"?

As I can't find a rushed skirt other than this on their site.

Thanks

MrsMcGregor · 02/01/2014 14:29

I'm 5'7" and have the Hush skirt ... it's short, well above my knee but I love it, really flattering although I do adjust it downwards a fair bit!

carrie74 · 02/01/2014 15:17

Yes Bumblebzz that's the one.

Bumblebzz · 02/01/2014 15:47

Thanks Carrie

Is it very casual or can it be worn for work? Though I am rubbish at pairing skirts up with nice tops for work so usually only wear dresses at work.

carrie74 · 02/01/2014 15:53

Both - I had mine delivered on Xmas Eve, so haven't had a chance to wear it for work yet, but have worn it a couple of times already at home. It's very thick, so definitely suitable for work (not in any way see-through). I have a couple of their ruched dresses too (in fact I'm wearing the cowl neck one today at work), so it's a style I really like for work - a pencil skirt that you can walk in Grin.

Francois · 02/01/2014 20:52

Thanks all

Ooh, I'm glad to read that. I bought the Me+Em shorter ruched skirt, but then was annoyed I hadn't noticed the Baukjen one first. I'm really happy with the quality of my Baukjen t-shirts, and I'm not totally convinced by the slight fuzziness of the Me+Em one. If the Baukjen one is thin I feel better about having the Me+Em one, which does look great and is very comfortable.
(I won't order from Hush anymore as their sizing is so erratic.)

AmberNectarine · 03/01/2014 11:54

I have the Baukjen one in the grey and actually find it totally fine - I regularly wear it to work. Have lots of Me&em dresses which are great quality too
