28 inch back bras, where are they?

YoungJoseph · 01/01/2014 14:22

New Year, New Bra...
I've measured 29 under and 33 over. That makes me a 28D as a starter size. However, I can't see many 28 inch bras for sale. Any shop recommendations? I thought I could try a 30C (M and S sells these) and just go to the tightest setting instead. Any thoughts?

John Lewis and Debenhams have quite a good selection

Thurlow · 01/01/2014 14:27

Bravissimo

enormouse · 01/01/2014 14:28

M and s do 28 backs if you look hard enough. (I was a 28d pre pg).

^ some I've found on ebay.

M&S do stock 28Ds, just not many of them. Ditto John Lewis list 12 styles in that size. Bravissimo will definitely do them....at a price, and they're your best bet if money no object.

I personally would head for the largest possible department store / shopping mall once the sales are over and try on absolutely everything possible in a 28d/30C/28C/30B (28e also would be worth trying but you'd be unlikely to find any of those in stock).

Try Brastop

YoungJoseph · 01/01/2014 14:37

That was quick, thanks so much. I've not seen that size in JL, M and S or Debenhams. Not searching correctly I suppose.

It is very hard to find that size. I'm 28 -30DD and I find it really frustrating- I'm really not an usual shaped woman ! Figleaves website at least lets you search by size.

Jaffacakesallround · 01/01/2014 14:52

John Lewis often do their own brand in 28 inch.

BaDaBing · 01/01/2014 15:26

Boux avenue. As a 30HH they are only shop that I can get half decent bras from!

lurkingaround · 01/01/2014 15:33

They are not easy to find at all. I am 28-30 E or F and I find it really difficult to buy. Bravissimo (get a good assistant). Never heard of Boux, off to google.

lurkingaround · 01/01/2014 15:34

Boux Ave only start at a 30 back?

SpottyTeacakes · 01/01/2014 15:35

I get all mine from figleaves. Panache Cleo do nice ones that fit me well.

IamInvisible · 01/01/2014 15:36

I noticed Very.co.uk had some yesterday.

MissSaigon · 01/01/2014 15:40

Plenty of 28 backs on Figleaves

cardamomginger · 01/01/2014 15:52

Panache Cleo do a 28 inch back. I'm 28E and get mine from Bravissimo.

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/01/2014 16:06

Brastop, amazon (honest), mycurvesandme (panache/cleo owned), leia lingerie (fantasie/freya/fauve/elomi), figleaves, debenhams (brands plus their own gorgeous range which starts at 28 and runs tight too), largecuplingerie...

online will be your friend.

lurkingaround · 01/01/2014 16:24

Debenhams? Gosh, never thought. Much handier to me than bravissimo. Thanks.

Thurlow · 01/01/2014 16:28

I like the fact that with Bravissimo you get bras that fit and they aren't bothered by the size. I went the other day and got a 28G but also a 30F, because the different styles had different cuts and we just kept trying them on until we had two bras that fit.

SorrelForbes · 01/01/2014 18:17

Based on your measurements I'd try a 28DD too.

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/01/2014 19:54

I've just bought a nude t shirt bra in JL sale for £10, I really like it.

It was 28d.

JennySense · 01/01/2014 20:16

Have you tried www.bras4all.co.uk ?

YoungJoseph · 01/01/2014 20:29

Thanks again, can't really believe I'm moving away from the beginning of the alphabet in bra world. Looking at pictures of women in bras that I look nothing like. Good fun though.
I've ordered a couple and I'll see how I get on.

AnyCrunchyCarrotFucker · 01/01/2014 20:32

Neither JL or Debenhams in my city have any 28 backs actually in the shop. I think that's shocking. To actually try any on I go to bravissimo in London, a 2 hr train ride away.

Madness.

On a related note, I once asked hotmilk why they stopped doing 30 backs (or did so few, can't remember) and the answer was... There was no demand. Really???

goodasitgets · 01/01/2014 20:33

This site has some bright unusual stuff in a 26 and 28 back
madeinpreston.com

YoungJoseph · 01/01/2014 20:36

I'm surprised that they aren't more commonly available as well. I'm slim but not skinny, plenty of skinnier women than me around who would probably need a 26 inch back for example.
