Static shocker of a dress!

So I've raked about in the back of my wardrobe and found a dress I've only worn once before - its perfect for the party we're going to tonight (in about 30 minutes!), but it's a static clingy nightmare!
It's a fairly heavy polyester satin with chiffon over the top, and the chiffon is sticking to the satin...not actually to me, iykwim? Does anyone have any ideas how to stop it? I don't remember it doing this when I wore it previously.
Help!

aren't you supposed to hit static things with wire coathangers?

or is it spritz with hairspray?

or steam it in the bathroom?

Spray your tights or legs with hairspray!

It's not clinging to me though Cataline , it's clinging to itself! Am beating it with coathanger as we speak....dcs look bewildered....

Spray the inside of the dress with hairspray? How did the coathanger beating go?

Just home....turns out if you drink enough Prosecco and dance til your feet hurt, you don't really care what your dress is doing! Happy New Year! Xmas Grin

I like the 4.30am update! Grin

For future reference I have a can of anti static spray from John lewis that works wonders.
