I have recently discovered Caroline Hiron and her infamous beauty blog and I want to change my ways! I do have a sort of routine, but am looking to improve it by following her recommended beauty routine. I have a number of products already but was after your advise/wisdom for the gaps!

Caroline recommends the following:

Morning

Cleanse
Currently using:
REN Gel Cleanser
Clains Milk Cleanser

Acid Tone - which one do you recommend?

Spray Hydrate - What do you recommend for this?

Eye cream
Currently using up Clains samples
Other recommendations needed

Serums/Oils
Have been looking at Hydraluron and Pepta Bright - do they do the same thing?

Moisuriser
Currently using superdrug natual radiance range
Other recommendations needed

SPF
Currently using Elemis 50

Evening

Balm Cleanse - looking at clinque or Emma Hardie

Milk/Gel cleanser - will use REN/Clarins

Acid Tone

Spray Hydrate

Eye Cream

Treatments
Facial Oil - currently using Clarins Lotus Oil

Moisturiser
Currently using superdrug natual radiance range
Other recommendations needed

Do I need to add anything here to this routine?

Will also be buying more face cloths and a body shop face massager!!

Here's to a fabulous face in 2014 :)

To be honest with you, please don't get carried away. I have read Caroline's blog briefly and I'm sure she is very good at what she does, but I'm not convinced that everything she recommends will work for everyone, but I think that about a lot of things in life!

I would only introduced 1 new product or technique at at time to my skincare regime as you may find it doesn't suit you and you won't know know which one is causing the problems, iyswim.

I'm no skincare expert, just a pragmatic mner so do feel free to ignore meWink

TallulahBetty · 31/12/2013 13:43

Is that all in one day? Everyday? Shock Shock Shock Hmm

whatiswrongwithyou · 31/12/2013 13:46

I know a lot of people really rate her advice, but I have to say that my skin would be in a terrible state if I loaded that many chemicals on it everyday!

Cristiane · 31/12/2013 13:47

Hi
Caroline Hirons has just 'updated' her advice - no more double cleansing!
To be honest, the volte face makes me think she maybe is NOT that experienced.

www.carolinehirons.com/2013/12/clinic-lessons-november.html

I tried quite a few of her product recommendations and they haven't helped much.

sultrywinter · 31/12/2013 14:19

Hydraluron dried out my skin

chanie44 gives good advice - go slow! I spent a fortune and ditched most of it. Still use EH balm but not the hydrating and acid tones. I use Alpha H liquid gold instead.

merryxmasyafilthyanimal · 31/12/2013 14:26

Volte face is because she has a double chin. Great skin though. Do agree she needs to update her pic - makes her look immature and silly.

ANYWAY,
I use the Ren toner OP.

Am also looking for a good spray hydrate as the one I have smells like vomit.

merryxmasyafilthyanimal · 31/12/2013 14:27

Ren clarifying toner

spacegirl81 · 31/12/2013 14:29

thanks merry! not planning to go mad, just after ideas Smile

I have truth serum which smells divine but is expensive and no idea if it works - haha!

I have flannels for washing my face. Got mine for about 10p each from a cheapy superstore place. Have about a dozen use one a day then chuck in the wash and tumble with my socks and pants.

merryxmasyafilthyanimal · 31/12/2013 14:54

Another post, sorry. I have the Take The Day Off cleansing balm which is great.

spacegirl81 · 31/12/2013 15:32

just picked up some emma hardie serum for £12 in tk!!Grin

goodasitgets · 31/12/2013 16:46

I use bravura glycolic toner for acid tone
Serozinc or Lancôme for hydrating toner
Started using a lot of Occo stuff from TK Maxx
It's trial and error - in am I do one cleanse, hydrate tone and moisturise. PM is balm cleanse, milk cleanse, acid tone, hydrate tone. I don't moisturise in the evening

goodasitgets · 31/12/2013 16:47

Oh moisturiser I use amphora aromatics echinacea

spacegirl81 · 31/12/2013 17:16

goodasitgets I picked an occo mask and moisturiser from tk for £3 each today too!! was quite pleased. brought botanics balm cleanser which ive uses before for £6 too. is the moisturiser you use good, where do you get it from? Smile

goodasitgets · 31/12/2013 17:17

I love the moisturiser - it's thick but not greasy. Bought it on a recommendation for spotty skin after CH tweeted the ingredients looked lovely
If you google amphora aromatics you will find the website, it's about £5

spacegirl81 · 31/12/2013 17:33

fab, will take a look. going to try the occo one first and also picked up a this works one for £7 Grin

Heres a easy printable version inspired by Caroline's amazing advice but with a good measure of reality thrown in.
