I mean, yes some of it is pretty in a vintage shabby way, particularly the homewares, but the clothes are just eye wateringly expensive, even the sale. I they fantastic quality for something?

I love browsing the shop on Regent Street but I really dont think the quality is very good at all and the fit/ sizing is very odd too.
It's the sort of stuff the looks lovely all together but single out an item to buy and it seems to lose its charm for me.

JuneauWhoIAm · 30/12/2013 21:21

I have some homeware stuff alright.

I wouldn't pay for the clothes.

Corygal · 30/12/2013 21:28

Ditto - homeware and trinkets, yes, scent, definitely, but even in the sale the clothes look daggy. However a couple of dresses I got from there as a present looked miles nicer and lasted ages longer than one would have thought.

I too always love to pop into the Regent Street shop - I do like "the look". Corygal you must have very generous present givers!

It's a bit hiss and miss on the clothes side of things, I've had some wins but also a few misses. The trick is to read all the reviews, go on the US site if there aren't enough on the eur one. A friend in canada gets amazing bargains in their sales, like dresses for $20 and pilcro jeans for $40. However she has plenty of time on her hands and is always popping in to check the sales rack.

UsedToBeNDP · 30/12/2013 21:50

the stuff isn't my style so I wouldn't buy it, but IMO the prices aren't that outrageous, there're plenty of other shops competing in that market, even Boden is creeping towards that end and there's many a Johnnie fan on here.

I bought a wine leather jacket in the sale: very nice!

happybubblebrain · 30/12/2013 23:31

It used to be much better a few years ago, and quite a bit cheaper. I looked around the Regent Street shop a month ago and I didn't really like anything. The quality didn't seem that good either, no better than anything on the High Street, just four times the price.

Did that link work? Anyway, I'm going to get a lot of wear from the jacket, wouldn't have bought it full price though.
