God, I loathe buying clothes for weddings of people I don't even know.

Are you a hat wearer? get a big hat to go with it! I got a great one for a wedding a couple of years a go from new look -it was about 10 quid and I got complements all day. dd wants me to do a grin - so

looks fine for a wedding!
TBH, if you don't know anyone at the wedding then, probably, no-one's going to be bothered what you wear are they?
