Slim-leg black trousers?

Can anyone recommend some to me? I would like something not too polyester-ish, available online and preferably cheap.

Everything I can find is polyester or too expensive. I really like Marks and Spencer's modern slim shape in a kind of cotton sateen but they have made then all very polyester and with some very horrible zips this year and I am struggling. I also like the Boden bistro shape, but can't afford the wool.

Thanks!

I have excellent ones from Cos and the White Company, both less than £40 in previous sales. Hang on - will have a look.

LaTrucha · 29/12/2013 21:54

Gosh I like the white company ones - both pairs but probably the first onne the most. Still quite pricey for me but very tempting. Thanks. I would never have thought of looking there for trousers. Do you know what the sizing is like?

Generally big. I'm a 10-12 and need a 10 in the trousers and sometimes even an 8 in tops/dresses.

ShreddedHoops · 29/12/2013 22:09

I love those WC ones Remus - do you really have to dry clean them though?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/12/2013 22:21

Agh. Mine are not those ones and are machine washable. I wouldn't buy dry clean only trousers tbh.

thenightsky · 29/12/2013 22:25

last year I got some amazingly well fitting ones from Sainsburys, but they are permanently sold out in my size this year. They ARE man-made fibres, but are heavy fabric that hangs perfectly, so I can forgive them. Plus they are mega cheap... £19 or thereabouts.

InTheRedCorner · 29/12/2013 22:31

I managed to pick some up in new look with a blazer and both under £20 each.

The WC ones are lovely though.

Zara is worth a look.

LaTrucha · 29/12/2013 22:50

Sorry, I got distracted by trash TV. Dry clean and black is probably impractical. One of the few shops we do have is New Look. Might be worth a go. Thanks.

Why oh why oh why did M&S have to go and make a really good pair of trousers so ugly?

Banana Republic usually have decent slim black trousers in OK fabric. I think the cut is called sloane.

treaclesoda · 30/12/2013 05:13

Zara might be worth a look.

LaTrucha · 30/12/2013 07:58

Thanks. I will have a look.

I have the cos ones and love them dearly

TheCrumpetQueen · 30/12/2013 08:03

Bought some lovely ones from hennes yesterday about £12

MissScatterbrain · 30/12/2013 09:05

Try the Gap's slim cropped trousers - I have seen these recommended on these threads.

smallinthesmoke · 30/12/2013 09:54

Mint Velvet are pretty reliable for these sorts of things. I have have two pairs from them and they wear well. Unfortunately they are usually carryover and don't go in the sales.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/12/2013 17:02

I don't get on with the Gap ones at all. The fabric is poor imho.

LaTrucha · 30/12/2013 17:12

I had a look at them but I don't really like the crop, and in New Look which was terrifying, and ultimately unsuccussful.
