All those of you who were part of the glycolic acid threads...

... Do you still use it? Does is still work?

I had great results with the 30% GA, but stopped using it so much when I ran out of the neutraliser. I did use bicarb, but just stopped using it so much at that point. Bought some 50% and didn't notice any big difference to the 30%. Best results when I use pure argan oil twenty min after. i have quite dry skin and something really moisturising after is a real must for me.

Tried another acid someone recommended here - a lactic combo of sorts? No real benefits for me.

Nowadays I use Bravuras 15% night cream and that works really well for me. Less faff than neutralising etc. I always mix it with a moisturiser, again my skin is too dry without. I can't remember when our original GA thread was (18months ago?), or sorry who the OP was. But I do think it represented a bit of a sea-change with the way I looked. My skin is better and I feel like a look a younger.

I struggled to find a foundation that worked for me. The medium coverage one I had been using gave me a bit of a scary-doll white out look. I've finally found a superlight one that matches my blue/pink pale skin and doesn't make me look freaky.

I've also started using an all-day 30spf (ultrasun) because I've been caught out with farmer face a couple of times. Even wind or being outside a lot (not even in sunny conditions) can make me look a bit ruddy.

And finally.... My mum gave me Liz Earle Hot Cloth cleanser for xmas. I've always coveted it a bit, but never been able to justify price. It wasn't on any wish list of mine, but my sister loves it so my mum got me some when she got it for my sister. For 4 days I have been hot-clothing then using the GA night cream and holy schmoly the results are amazing. I'm holding back from sounding a klaxon, but only cause of my reserved nature, not because of any doubts about the combination.

SO - that was very long, but I do wonder if anyone else still uses and what they think of it now.

I tried the 30% and 50% glycolic peels, without much success. However, strangely, the 15% glycolic night treatment has been transformational for me - my skin is clear, bright, even, and far less sensitive. DH always notices if I start using it again after a couple of weeks away from it, and that's all the evidence I need that it's worth the money Grin.

I use coconut oil and a hot washcloth for cleansing, and generally use either Bio Oil (when at home) or Avene Skin Recovery Cream (the rest of the time) as moisturiser. However that may soon change a bit as I've just ordered the Bravura 10% glycolic moisturiser to try, since I had to reorder the night treatment anyway...
