What do you wear in the evenings/weekends when you're not at work?

That isn't jeans based? I love denim but I'm bored of wearing it all the time and would love something that isn't denim but isn't workwear. There seems to be a gap in the market now.

So, what do you wear when you're not at work?

What about maxi dresses or just cotton/jersey dresses. I have loads of fairly causal dresses. Jersey dresses are so comfy as well. You could wear tights when it's cold.

Otherwise you could look at chinos or corduroys - Gap usually has lots of fun colours & styles.

Could also get some coloured denim - so it will obv feel the same as jeans but look will be different!

If not going out, then lounge pants, like jammy bottoms basically, but just a bit nicer. If I may pop out then trousers or a skirt. Wouldn't touch a maxi dress with a bargepole, though.

Casual dresses or vest and pants Blush

Gillybobs · 29/12/2013 13:50

Printed casual dress with cosy cardi, tights and flat boots.

Weekends - tube skirts or jumper dresses
Evenings - depends what I'm doing tbh. If at home, usually just yoga pants and a jumper.

lurkingaround · 29/12/2013 16:16

Jumper dresses, shortish skirts like this one that fits the model so badly. (I fill it out rather nicely BlushGrin ), and jumpers and boots, or if my back is annoying me, trainers.

But I agree, there is that gap in the market. Not easy, esp if you're hippy (I mean big hips, not hippy dippy happy clappy) like me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/12/2013 16:29

Love that skirt.

lurkingaround · 29/12/2013 16:43

Thanks Remus. Of course in true Cos style, the photo is awful. Nicely made, comfortable, warm, fully lined. Have I sold it yet?!Grin

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/12/2013 16:44

Skirts and dresses in there are usually far too long for me. You've reminded me that I meant to look in there today though, and forgot all about it.

lurkingaround · 29/12/2013 16:53

Yes, so many shops, so little time.....
It's quite a short skirt, only mid thigh on me, 5'6". Thank goodness for opaques. 43cm, that's what in old money, 16 or 17".

CatAmongThePigeons · 29/12/2013 16:59

Gosh, that skirt would be a belt on me!

It's interesting to see what ohers wear, jumper dresses are an old forgotten love

I'm a short arse, so it would probably be knee length on me (I like short!). I love the Whistles and Topshop tube skirts, which come in a range of lengths.

lurkingaround · 29/12/2013 18:58

I love those tube skirts but they're not great on me, with my saddlebags. Not a good look. I thought I might try a ruched Hush skirt in their sale. Really like them.

ShreddedHoops · 29/12/2013 19:05

Right now? A leopard print onesie Smile

But usually, erm, skinnies + jumper + scarf + leather jacket does the trick for me as a boring basic uniform. Ballerinas or biker boots on feet, heeled boots if venturing into town child free. Maybe a beanie. Vest instead of jumper if it's summer. Duffle coat if it's winter. God I'm boring. I do wear jumper dresses sometimes but feel overdressed when I do.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/12/2013 19:27

A jumper dress (or tube skirt and jumper), biker jacket and ankle boots is one of my favourite weekend looks, when not wearing skinnies. So comfortable (yes, I am 112!).

HoHoHopasholic · 29/12/2013 19:49

After a few months of pondering as they're expensive for leggings, I bought These they were recommended by someone on here. They're lovely and soft, I wear them with a slouchy jumper round the house.

Thank you whoever recommended!

JemimaMuddledUp · 29/12/2013 19:53

Knitted dresses, cord dresses or denim skirts with thick tights and boots.

DingbatsFur · 29/12/2013 19:53

choking 40£ for leggings???
Wow.

HoHoHopasholic · 29/12/2013 20:23

I know Blush but honestly, they're lovely, soft jersey material & I've worn them constantly.
