The most beautiful coat I have seen for years

Today I saw a lady in a local shopping centre wearing a black wool simple coat. It hung fabulously was just below knee length, but had black rosettes randomly on the bottom 18 inches. I have googled for ages with no joy. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Phase 8 sometimes do, M&S had a skirt like that a few years ago.

Nothing like that - it was wool and a really simple, elegant silhouette. Thank you for replying though - the rosettes weren't in a row they were more random.

Not on the Agnes B website. Don't think it's Phase 8; I'm always pop ping in there. I wish I had asked.

I'll keep my eyes perked Windmill - I'm always popping in and out of there, so if I happen upon her I shall be that mad woman and ask her.

Oh yes, do please. It was so understated but a bit different. I bought myself a new coat yesterday though but would love to know the make because they must do other things I like.

a lot of their stuff is a bit garish but some of it is lovely - the cut is often ladylike and they like their flowers

I wonder if it was Moschino? Quite a bit of their stuff has flower motifs on...

Not goldenspiderweb jollysanta. However, having combed websites I think it probably was Moschino from the cut, shape and "swing" - probably not this season because there's nothing identical. It wasn't a motif but a silk/taffeta flower in plain black. I am in no doubt that it was a very expensive coat.

Here's hoping you have a lottery win then you can employ a designer to make the same coat for you.

God. I went to that link and ended up buying that seller's royal blue Moschino dress for £65.

No, not quite Tethers but thank you. The flowers were completely black, silk or taffeta - not large.

I remember lusting after a coat just as you describe. It was last winter and it was high St, not designer. I can't remember which brand it was but the 3 that spring to mind are coast, desigual and m&s.

She could have but it didn't have a home sewn sort of look to it. Not Monsoon. I think perhaps I'll have to just dream and perhaps shop a bit more seriously in future. Have got lots of ideas from this thread though about where I ought to look in future. All makes my reduced Nicole Farhi, very sensible and serviceable purchase on Friday look very dull :(

Aww, can you take it back? Take it back. Coats are too important to make you feel "meh". Somewhere out there is a coat that will make you feel bitchy and brilliant and beautiful. FIND THAT COAT. :)
