Have a date with a younger man. Possibly going to hip hop club. God help me!

Converse and jeans aren't going to cut it, are they?
I last went to this sort of place ten years ago.

I'm looking forward to it, but what do sexy young things wear these days?

An impertinent question but how old are you? Also do you have any interest in hip hop?

UterusUterusGhali · 28/12/2013 18:53

I'm 33 but look younger.
I'm a size 16.

Yes I do. More into back-pack hip-hop tbh.

I think the hip hop thing is a red herring though. It's the going to funky bars thing that's throwing me!

What's the age gap? Is this a first date?

waltermittymissus · 28/12/2013 18:55

Are you going clubbing, ie dancing until 2am, or to a gig?!

UterusUterusGhali · 28/12/2013 18:59

Clubbing.
Yes first date.
Quiet stuff too.
He's just turned 29.

Clubbing for a first date? Are you mad?

SwedishEdith · 28/12/2013 19:09

Well, I think that that's no age gap at all, so that wouldn't even cross my mind. Going to a club, if I wasn't keen on that any more, would probably give me some angst. Going to a club spontaneously, after a good meal/drink/whatever might feel different, planning to go = less so. What do you want to do on a first date?

UterusUterusGhali · 28/12/2013 19:10

I know!!!
Well he says he's going to show me the establishments around his home town.
Clubbing sounds horrid, but he's sooooo pretty. Grin

No age gap at all!

I am 33 and dh is 26 :) and before I met him I dated a 20 year old when I was 28....

You'll be fine. Grab yourself a load of stuff from asos or top shop and shake your stuff!

UterusUterusGhali · 28/12/2013 19:13

I just want to go for drinks.
But I live in the sticks and don't get out much, so drinks involve jeans and wellies.

I think I might need A Dress that isn't a frumpy wrap style. And shoes that aren't le chameau ffs.

waltermittymissus · 28/12/2013 19:16

Oh god - I'd only go clubbing with friends or at least in a group!

Sorry, not helpful!

I definitely think you'll need a dress or very dressy jeans with killer heels!

UterusUterusGhali · 28/12/2013 19:47

Dressy jeans?

Personally I wouldn't go too far out of your usual style for a date. How happy are you with your legs and what's your boobage like? I reckon I'd go for a fitted bodycon-ish dress, maybe with leggings and low-heel shoeboots (that won't hurt after half an hour). Have a look on asos to see how they style up their dresses.

waltermittymissus · 28/12/2013 19:51

You know like a really good colour, skinny jeans!

waltermittymissus · 28/12/2013 19:52

I have black skinnies which are great for dressing up!

Got them from (I think) Asos.

JethroTull · 28/12/2013 19:58

You won't need heels at a hip hop club IMO. Converse, jeans & a funky top. Or tights, shorts and a top. Shoe boots would be a good idea too. Top Shop or All Saints.

UterusUterusGhali · 28/12/2013 20:05

I have black skinnies!

I have a tight baujken dress. I also have a big belly. Sad

Will look for shoe boots.
I don't think I can do "killer" heels!

waltermittymissus · 28/12/2013 20:13

Yes shoe boots are a happy medium I think!
