I wouldn't wear a navy top with black trousers. I think the top is a good base to dress up with the necklace though.

Can you get the top in black?

Shockers · 27/12/2013 13:01

Ah... I notice that the model has the top in navy and the trousers in black.

Ignore me, I'm very stuck in my ways.

jewllery is a bit meh
colour?

eurochick · 27/12/2013 13:09

I'm the same re: navy and black shockers. I wouldn't wear them together.

HyvaPaiva · 27/12/2013 13:13

I don't like wearing navy and black together and I'm not sure that trousers made of ponte sound very nice. I like the cut of the top and trousers, though. I think the jewellery clashes badly. Either a classic silver or a splash of colour (royal purple, emerald green, berry pink) would work better.

Financeprincess · 27/12/2013 20:48

Please don't wear this outfit, it's an apology in clothing form. Looks like something a nun would wear to a 70th birthday party. Just don't. You can do better.

What's your build/shape?

buttercrumble · 27/12/2013 22:02

I'm size 18 with rotten legs and a bit of a tummy and big backside , but don't fancy a maxi dress they really aren't me.

How about something that shows some cleavage? That focuses people on your face and lovely top half, and away from your legs. You can get away with a full on necklace if you're a bit bigger, too. You could still go for trousers if you really don't like your legs, but wear a glam top that floats over your tum and shows some flesh in the embonpoint region! Don't just choose black either. Size 18 really isn't that big.

Shockers · 28/12/2013 01:11

I'm size 14 with a bit of a tummy and a big backside too. I wouldn't wear this with my shape even if it was all black. I'd rather not feel uncomfortable in tight fitting clothes that show lumps and bumps. I agree with Finance, although I do tend to choose black a lot in looser fitting tunic style dresses with dark tights, but I put on more striking jewellery to jazz it up. If I do that, make sure my hair is shiny and bouncy and wear a bright smile, it has a lot more impact on my confidence than tight clothes.
