I'd like a gel nail French manicure but have short nails - can it be done?

I saw a woman last week with a French manicure that was Shellac (I asked!) and it looked fab. I don't get on with the nail tip extensions but love the way it looks so am tempted to try it. My nails don't grow very well though so are currently short, just to the tip of my finger or so. Would a good nail technician be able to work with that?

I don't want to embarrass myself by going in, in case they can't! I can't have my nails painted because of my job so thought a manicure was the next best thing.

Should be fine. Gel is just a polish, not an extension so you should be ok.

Thanks Frozen :) I was wondering if there would be enough nail for them to work with to paint the white bit on, or if it would look daft iyswim? Wish I was more girly haha, this is my token effort!

I had mine done...my friend used my hands as her practice model when she had just learned to do shellac.

They looked really neat and tidy and nicely groomed.

I get this done and keep my nails quite short. I have a square shape and have nails just long enough to file.

Go for it.
