Talk to me about cashmere

I need to replace a very tatty, bobbly holey jumper that I wear a lot. It goes with everything - work of play - so I want something similar. It is pale grey heather, waist length, slightly scooped neck. It is a cashmere/merino mix from Woolovers and is about 4 years old.

I'm thinking about replacing it with something 100% cashmere, as I have one cashmere jumper (Boden hoody) which I got for a big birthday a few years ago.

I was going to brave Brora prices, but they don't have a neckline or a colour I like. My "go to" knitwear shop is Gap, but I don't like their colours; similar for Land's End Nd John Lewis round neck too high.

M&S do have a neckline and colour I like, but terrible reviews online.

Mint Velvet have one in their Hygge range that I quite like - can anyone comment on the quality of their clothes, I have never had any.

Uniqlo also have a neckline-style I like, about half the price of the Mint Velvet one. Again, can anyway comment?

I have £80 Christmas money to spend, although would spend more for really good quality.

I have three M&S cashmere jumpers. None have bobbled, all are still in perfect condition and have washed fantastically.

The M&S reviews all seem to refer to "not as good as they used to be". Have you bought any of yours this season ?

Two last year, one a couple of months ago.

Interesting, thanks.

Uniqlo gets great reviews for the price, but it's a great time of year to get fantastic bargains for higher quality - keep an eye out for labels like Velvet, Duffy, 360 cashmere, Chinti&Parker, zadig&voltaire. Look on websites such as shopatanna.com, theoutnet, mywardrobe, shopbop.com (duty may need to be added on here), mytheresa, donnaida. Jcrew also worth a look. Xmas Smile

Ooh thanks sleep! Now I know where to look.

I've had some great success buying second hand on ebay - I have 3 cashmere jumpers - Brora, Pure and Edinburgh Woollen Mill bought from Ebay.

I've recently bought cashmere from LaRedoute and been surprised by the good quality of it.

Hhhmm, I have seacrhes saved on eBay, but I lost a lot of weight last year and I am not sure of size.
