How to grow out dd's hair

Dd (2) has always had short hair. Atm it's like an overgrown "boy's" short back and sides. I would like it to grow out into one length, how do I do this?

I keep getting it cut at the hairdressers hoping it will tidy it up and encourage the hair to grow into one length....am I just keeping it short for longer? What do I need to do to encourage it to grow into a bob say?

Not get it cut. Every 4/5 months or so will be fine. Otherwise just leave it to grow. Get some clips and hats!

I think just let it grow until there is enough length to be cut into a bob. However tempted you might be to just get it trimmed to tidy it up, don't...stick a clip on her head instead!

Just get the very longest layer cut each time maybe to about jaw length. don't touch the shorter layers (maybe every few months but just the tips to keep healthy) they will eventually reach jaw length to and then can all be grown together.
