Best straightners and where to buy them

My GHDs have died tonight but no complaints lasted 8 years.
Are they still the best straightners?
Where is best to get them from?
I have very curly hair if that makes a difference and have the wider plates

Remington Pearls. Just as good as ghd's and currently reduced from £79 to £39 in Argos.

MrsRogerSterling · 23/12/2013 20:11

Actually just checked and they are now £29.99 here

Corioliss c2 are hands down the best straighteners I have had. They are better than ghd's imo! I have thick, curly hair which can really frizz and these really work well. You can get them from Amazon half price just now

duvetheaven · 23/12/2013 21:29

good for the price are Babyliss.

SofaCanary · 23/12/2013 21:55

I've got the new GHD Eclipse on my Chrissie list - £50 off at John Lewis.

IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 24/12/2013 05:05

I want to try Cloud 9 next, they're made by the people who started GHD I believe.

Beaverfeaver · 24/12/2013 07:07

Corioliss c2 here as well.

By far the best compared to
Others including GHD's.

All my family have them and no issues at all.

chocolatespiders · 24/12/2013 08:28

Have looked at the corioliss do you know what the difference is between the c2 and c3?

CooEeeEldridge · 24/12/2013 08:40

Ghds still the best I my opinion. I think if you contact ghd they might repair them it give you a discount off new pair?

Beaverfeaver · 24/12/2013 12:31

chocolatespiders the C3 have larger plates and get a bit hotter.

C2's still go up to 210 though (I use mine at 180, which is plenty)

My hair is in far better condition using Corioliss rather than GHD's.

The plates are smoother than ceramic meaning less damage and they glide smoothly.
My hair also seems to stay fresher and without static using Corioliss.

I wouldn't bother spending the extra on the c3's over c2's though.

So surprised people still use GHD's. If everyone knew about Corioliss I'm sure GHD would go out of business!

Thanks beaver that's really helpful.. Think I will invest, my ghds are not doing well at the moment. Will have another look on amazon.

L'Oreal professional steam. Not easy to get hold of but I love mine!
