Jaeger Boutique to be discontinued?

I read in the Style magazine in yesterday's Sunday Times that the Jaeger Boutique line is to be discontinued. I'm so disappointed as I find them great for unusual dresses. Are there any other fans of the brand out there? What are your thoughts on this devastating news? ;)

Yes I read that too. It's a shame but hopefully they will discount all those lovely dresses in the sale.

that is a shame. lovely stuff but I would only ever buy in the sales. perhaps that was the problem.

JennySense · 23/12/2013 15:03

Nooooo!

Boutique is considered a dumbing down of the Jaeger brand and is a bit of a joke in high fashion circles I am led to believe.
My gripe with Boutuque though is how much polyester etc they use. Shame as some designs are lovely.

I'm not surprised, for the same reasons as Tweet: why do a diffusion line of a brand known for quality then use cr@p fabric? I bought some Jaeger Boutique things and found that they didn't wash or last well.

I had a beautiful Boutique dress in star print silk crepe, the quality was fine. I do like the clothes but wouldn't buy them full price.

my boutique stuff is silk

I like Jaeger, but am quite frequently shocked that they try to charge £250 for dresses that look fabulous, but are made with horrible polyester. For£250 I expect natural fabrics all the way - who wouldn't...? I only ever buy from outlet stores, with an exception of a dress bought this Autumn that I used a discount voucher for, and have worn to death, so good value.

I like the look of Jaeger clothes (some of them) and Jaeger Boutique, so this is sort of a shame. however, I can't understand why Hobbs are able to manage to sell quite a bit of stuff with natural fibres while Jaeger, which is generally more expensive, can't. Something's wrong there.

I have a cotton tartan Boutique dress that shrank when washed- they didn't get the natural fibre thing right with that one. The Boutique designs can be really pretty though IMO.

I have a couple of their silk dresses and they are lovely, so will be sad to lose them, especially since I am still grieving the demise of aubin & wills.

The quality of the boutique stuff is wonderful, but I do think some of their offerings have become a tad frumpy of late.

Similar pricepoint to whistles, but boy what a leap in quality.
Never understood how whistles get away with it.

Whistles - sale shopping only, never ever pay full price!
