Which curling tongs are best for creating loose curls?

I want to create the lovely loose curls my hairdresser did on my hair but I just can't do it with my straighteners! I can't spend a fortune but before I go shopping, can anyone recommend a set that are easy to use and heat up quickly?
Thanks.

Get tongs with the largest barrel you can. (the barrel is the bit you wrap hair around)

Thanks HunieBunie. I found a great deal on Ebay on 32mm babyliss tongs. I am sadly quite excited about getting them!!

I bought the babyliss ones from ebay as well. Just to let you know you do need to get used to them and it may take a while...I haven't got the patience so gave up . Think I expected a full head of loose curls in 10 mins..! LOL..! I have been told they are brill but you need patience and practice.Something I don't have either of..!! LOL..!

hi nottsmum, did you get those babyliss tongs? Any good, or Is there a better pair of tongs out there for very fine shoulder length straight hair? Don't want to look like Chrissy of Eastenders, but a curl or even a wave that actually stayed in would be nice? Never bought a hair product before so don't really know where to start

Hi Monkey

V. Disappointly I waisted £17 as they didn't curl my hair at all. I even had my mum and niece have a go with them and they couldn't get them to work either. They were very fiddly so wouldn't recommend.

I've since had loads lopped off my hair so given up on the curling front altogether!

If I were you I'd ask your hairdresser. I showed the babyliss ones to mine in the hope she would know how to use them, she just said "my god, they look difficult to use!" so they're now just gathering dust....
