Anyone know about Michael kors bags?

And in particular if they are likely to go into the sale at all? I really like the Selma large bag but at £315 it is a lot of cash!

I really don't like them because they are SO blingy and therefore look cheap, not classy, IMO. Went all round one of their London shops and all the bags were so flash.

Only OK one for me was the Jetset -and I'd take the big logo tag off that!

They are super blingy - you need a good pair of sunglasses to look at them! TK Maxx often have them in so it might be worth a look there first.

GoodnessKnows · 21/12/2013 06:41

Don't get one. Tacky tack tack. Sorry for being opinionated when you've not asked for one. But yuk. All the wannabe mummies have them - along with their 4x4s, skinny arses, social ineptitude (beyond their cliquey group), and lack of taste.
Oops. Where DID that venom pour from?
PleAse look at mulberry - or in TK Maxx

Agree with the others that they are too blingy for my taste. They're on the outnet a lot and will go in the sale.

At that price point I prefer Marc by Marc Jacobs.

Just to add a different opinion, I worked with someone the other week who had a plain black Selma and thought it looked really smart- in fact I looked up Michael Kors bags to find out the name of the style. I don't like his overall aesthetic or his ads, but that particular bag is lovely.

KosherBacon · 21/12/2013 08:12

I hate the stuffed ones but really like the plain ones. I keep looking at them but accept they don't fit in with my lifestyle or budget at the moment. I don't think the hardware on it is show offy and is much smaller than the big rectangle plate on the MBMJ bags.

KosherBacon · 21/12/2013 08:12

Not stuffed, studded. Darn auto correct.

Beaverfeaver · 21/12/2013 08:13

I have a michael kors bag in orange.
It's lovely and I get so many compliments.

It's a hamilton.

Seeing as I wear quite drab clothes a bright blingy handbag helps make me look less harsh.

It is also far better quality than any of my other bags (Coach, Orca, Guess, Linea)

MrsCampbellBlack · 21/12/2013 09:01

The selma does look nice.

I have mbmj too hot to handle hobo and the branding is fairly low key. Its a shame so many designers are making their branding too blingy - yes mulberry, I do mean you.

GoodnessKnows · 21/12/2013 09:07

Lol
I'm going to look up the Selma now.
Never say never!

KatyPeary · 21/12/2013 09:13

Agree MrsCB, my pet peev is obvious branding.
Not really fond of them, blingy and so ubiquitous.

1muddymummy · 21/12/2013 09:17

My 15yo sis asked for this for Christmas and mum found 25% off them, I think it was at Daniel? So she got her one.

Oldandcobwebby · 21/12/2013 09:28

Surely, for that sort of money, you can buy something classy, rather than this blingy rubbish that just looks cheap?

Nepotism · 21/12/2013 09:33

Got DD one for her 18th at Bicester Village. I'm proud to say she chose the least blingy!
