Where to buy footless tights?

Northerner · 20/07/2006 18:15

Want some to wear with my denim mini and green mini 80's style dress I have.

Have seen these footless tights around and love them but have not seen them in shops. Also are they shiny (ala dancing type) or jersey like leggings?

Thanks style guru's.

northerner - have you tried bijou? That funny little hippy/camp shop opposite bus station? They do all sorts there...

MamaG · 20/07/2006 18:35

Bijou in Leeds?

FrannyandZooey · 20/07/2006 18:45

New Look had them last year, not sure if they do now.

swedishmum · 20/07/2006 18:54

Northerner · 20/07/2006 19:30

Northerner, stop flaunting the fact that you are skinny enough and younG enough to waer minis etc. I mean, really...some people!!!

CaptainFlameSparrow · 21/07/2006 09:15

Slightly different request here... do you know if anywhere does them for littlies?

My 3 yr old was bought a lovely dress, but it is really short by the time it is over her immense bum... the white lacey footless tights (when did they become "footless tights" instead of leggings???) would look really good with it.

(It is still very much a little girl's dress and with a pair of doodles she is NOT going to look like a shrunken teenager )

CaptainFlameSparrow · 21/07/2006 09:16

Oooh that's my other question... how skinny do you need to be to get away with the look as an adult???

fullmoonfiend · 21/07/2006 12:38

And how young?

I am 36 and used to wear leggings/footless tights under dresses/skirts when I was a teenager. It feels so wrong to go back there IYKWIM. But it was one of my fave ever looks - so comfy and prolongs the seasonal wear of skirts and shorter dresses.....dare I?

paddingtonbear1 · 21/07/2006 15:52

I am 38 and wear a couple of my dresses with leggings - everyone who's commented say they look ok. They're not mini, just above the knee. I am only 5ft tall though

swedishmum · 22/07/2006 10:35

I've bought stripey ones for the children in H and M before now.

psychomum5 · 22/07/2006 10:39

I buy them for my daughters in H&M. All colours and also pretty lacy ones. DD1 also has some gorgous white ones with lace at the bottom (the near foot bottom, not on her bottom IYGWIM).
They start from 2/3 up to 14/15yrs. And I guess that if your are small enough then the 14/15yr ones would be the same as small adult size tights....

HTH

CaptainFlameSparrow · 22/07/2006 17:41

Adult ones would never go round my bum

8-10 did go round my 3 yr old's bum nicely though

SminkoPinko · 22/07/2006 17:45

topshop has footless tights, northerner.

CaptainFlameSparrow · 23/07/2006 19:25

The dangers of early morning posting... kids ones would never go round my bum...

notsogummyanymore · 23/07/2006 19:28

hi northener. was in topshop in sunwin house on friday and they had them on the pay desk thingy.

notsogummyanymore · 23/07/2006 19:28
