Will it get better? Only been using two days after reading on here I thought it would be perfect for my acne prone skin. Clearly not. Shall I still with it?

I mean LA Roche posay effaclar

I wouldn't. Your skin is giving you a message that it doesn't like what you're doing!

Shame when the stuff is expensive, maybe you could eBay it or something?

killedanotherthread · 20/12/2013 08:28

Try using one item at a time, it might be that using all of it is too much but individually they might work. You might also find that the cleanser doesn't suit but the moisturiser does, etc. Then you'll know if you should re-purchase anything.

Prawntoast · 20/12/2013 08:40

Do the products contain any of this Methylchloroisothiazolinone/Methylisothiazolinone? Was a programme on radio 4 earlier this week, it's a preservative that is being banned by the EU in skin care as there has been a huge increase in skin reactions blamed on this additive.

knitknack · 20/12/2013 08:45

don't give up! Your skin won't know what's hit it at the moment. Efflaclar is brilliant but you may need to step down and use the serum etc every third night for a bit. Are you using all the products on all areas of your face? You may not need to. I use the serum on my nose, chin and forehead area, where I need it, but once my skin is looking clearer I ease off and use it a few times a week. The spot treatment WILL dry your skin so again only use when needed. What cleanser and moisturiser are you using?

Carpaccio · 20/12/2013 10:41

Stop using it if you're having a bad reaction to the products.

I used Effaclar AI the other day on a spot, and ended up with loads of those massive, deep and sore spots in the area I had used the cream. It's now in the bin. The rest of the products do nothing for me whatsoever.

Skin has just gone really dry. I know it is meant to counteract too much sebum., Arrrgh I don't know what to do now. Washing with the gel foaming cleanser and I also bought effarclar k, mat and duo. Plus the foundation. Not really sure what I am meant to use when really I was just tempted by an offer.

Ha ha

Must admit, I don't like the range. It did absolutely nothing for my skin.

Perhaps use more sparingly?

There's a post about it here, about half way down

I love this range!
What I would suggest is keep using the cleanser (have you got the LRP spray water too?) and the moisturiser. Build up your use of the products but give your skin a change to adapt.
I use the Micellar water (brilliant for getting makeup off) but go easy on your skin to start with.
Using everything at once might be a bit of an assault on your skin to start with.

MrsCliveStanden · 20/12/2013 18:34

Lol at the multiple posts Grin
Agree with others saying its your skin giving you a sign. I spent a small fortune on lots of e'spa products but they gave me pimples. Had to sadly stop using them even thought they smelled amazing! Listen to your skin

freerangeeggs · 20/12/2013 18:45

I imagine it's because of the benzoyl peroxide - it has those side effects and I think it's in Effaclar.

As I understand it (I've never used Effaclar but have a lifetime's experience of acne management!) your skin has to build up a tolerance to benzoyl peroxide. Try using just one or two of the products, half as often as you're supposed to. Then build up from there. That's what I'd do anyway.

TinyDiamond · 20/12/2013 21:34

OK will pull it back a bit and do a gradual intro. Should be used to BP as I use it or have been doing in other products for acne. Haven't got the spray water as still using up my dermalogica one. Will whack on a lot of moisturizer tonight and hope for the best.
