I've heard you're all bra experts... not a size problem more can't find decent ones in large sizes!

I'm a 32E/F, pretty sure that's the right size.

Problem is, I consider myself to be quite young and outgoing, but every bra I can find in my size is really huge and covers my whole boob area.

I'm just looking for something that gives a little cleavage, that I can wear with a low cut top or dress when I go out etc. I have been into many lingerie shops and all they keep bringing me are really hard structured balconette type things which hurt me, or huge like 'cover up my entire upper body' styles.

Can anyone help me locate what I want?

Peller and rigby. There is no other shop...! I'm a 36 e/f and their bras are the only ones that I can buy that show cleavage but don't have me hanging out of them.

BunnyLebowski · 19/12/2013 16:36

I'm 34E and 90% of my bras are pretty/sexy balcony or push up ones!

Debenhams, House of Fraser, New Look, M+S, Asda and Figleaves all do non-grannyish big boob bras!

Have a look on the websites - you can refine your search by your own size!

VeniseAndMe · 19/12/2013 16:40

Have a look at Bravissimo. They only do big sizes and have some lovely push up bras, some with lace, half cups etc....

Freya deco
Bravissimo Satine

Go onto the bravissimo sight and sort by half cup and plunge Smile

teenytinypuppy · 19/12/2013 16:46

Do these shops have quite a large range in store then? I'd be hesitant to order online because I'd have no idea if it would fit!

I've been into bravissimo and boux avenue. Got measured, the women kept bringing me old lady bras. I'm in my early twenties and covered in tattoos! I honestly don't think they try that hard to get something to suit a customers needs!

Also didnt know New Look etc catered for DD+

ouryve · 19/12/2013 16:50

I'm 32G and get loads of cleavage! 32E/F isn't all that big. Are you sure that's your size? What's your actual underband measurement?

If you want a low, narrow cleavage, then you need to look for a plunge style. If it's more a milk maid style cleavage, then look for a half cup. A balconnet gives a little more coverage, but still works perfectly with low cut tops.

have a look at sites like figleaves and brastop - plenty of cleavage on show there and a lot of the brastop bras are modelled by very large breasted models.

Lottapianos · 19/12/2013 16:54

Another vote for Bravissimo. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Good range of bras, different styles and colours, definitely not all old lady style

teenytinypuppy · 19/12/2013 16:56

Yeah its definitely the right size. My boobs don't look massively huge or anything, i'm a size twelve and they are in proportion. I regularly try different cup sizes, but I can't ever cram into a DD no matter what the back size. I try because they are usually much cheaper than the larger cup sizes!

And shopping online is actually quite easy. If you have a credit card, you can order a load and send back what doesn't fit or suit you for free - and even ask for replacements in different sizes.

I stocked up on a load of Curvy Kate bras from Brastop, this week. They're lovely and soft and far from old lady.

I'm a 30HH and have loads but selective is the key

Bravissimo satine is a nice plunge as is the Freya Deco (t shirt style)
Bravissimo do some nice half cups too
Curvy Kate can be good
Wonderbra everyday t shirt d-g is good
Ewa Michalak - polish brand but the bras are awesome and could not be described as frumpy. The images will show two designs, normally one version on a larger girl which I think must start about a j cup. You would be in the skimmpier version.
Cleo by panache does some good ones.
Gossard superboost

satine
wonderbra
gossard
curvy kate
ewa the version the girl in dreads is wearing

any of these appeal/ If you can give some pointers we can track things down

teenytinypuppy · 19/12/2013 18:32

Yeah the gossard one is lovely, just what I was looking for really. The curvy kate one looks a bit too covered to me. Maybe I'm just deluded though!

I guess Im in denial that my boobs are the size they are. I seem to favour skimpy strappy things when in reality maybe thats not practical.

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 19/12/2013 18:36

Can I hazard a guess that you've maybe been wearing the wrong size for a while?

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/12/2013 18:39

Sorry should clarify = "OMG the bras look massive, are really tall, cover lots" etc etc is a really common reaction from people who've been wearing bras in the wrong size, get resized (invariable to a bigger cup and smaller back) and suddenly realise just how much more boob a good bra encases compared to one thats the wrong size.

I love a good plunging neckline, I wear some very low tops and never have a problem hiding likes of the Curvy Kate or the Freya Deco. It doesn't help that most shops use images of ill fitting bras to advertise them.

teenytinypuppy · 19/12/2013 23:07

Oh. Well I've been measured pretty much every time I've bought a bra, although after reading threads about it I'm aware that doesn't necessarily mean anything!

I had a look at a thread about how to measure yourself and I measure 31 and 38, which seems about right for the size I'm wearing? Unless I've got it all horribly wrong!

OP posts:
KristinaM · 19/12/2013 23:34

That's the same measurements as me and I wear a 30G or GG

So I guess you might be a 32F ish

Don't you find that the band on the 32 s gets loose after a few wears ?

StatisticallyChallenged · 20/12/2013 06:55

Bravissimo are normally very good so I suspect that the 32f is about right. There is always something variance between bras though so sometimes you might need a 30 with a different cup.

I wasn't trying to be cheeky, it sounded like struggling to find bras you liked was new and that's often a problem when people get a bravissimo or bra guru fitting for the first time. If you have previous been fitted in the same size then that won't be the case. Sadly most shops still do it wrong-with your measurements m and s would start you at a 36b which would feel totally different. So it depends on where you have been fitted before.

WaitingForMe · 20/12/2013 07:09

I recently got measured in Bravissimo and bought some pretty bras that seemed to cover loads. Yet when I tried on my clothes (plenty of low necklines), nothing showed. It has taken me a while to get used to how they look but as OP is supposing, it has been a case of acknowledging how big a bra cup I need (I'm a 34F).

teenytinypuppy · 20/12/2013 07:57

Statistically no its fine I'm grateful for your help not offended at all!

KristinaM yeah with some I do find that, but others like Ann summer's the 32 is perfect. So maybe try a 30G too then?

It's crazy how every woman needs a decent fitting vra but there seems to be barely anyone in a bra shop that knows this!

OP posts:
teenytinypuppy · 20/12/2013 07:58

I've been looking at the Kelly Brooke range online and they seem suitability slutty looking for my tastes so ill check them out today!

OP posts:
StatisticallyChallenged · 20/12/2013 08:14

I suspect that she will be wearing a bra that's too small in the cup in the photos. It's a common trick.

teenytinypuppy · 20/12/2013 08:25

Awww so its it's totally unobtainable to have awesome cleavage in a properly fitted bra?

The only reason I need to go bra shopping is because my two favourite bras have both broken, wires popped out, because I know they were a size too small but they made my boobs look look awesome!

OP posts:
Indith · 20/12/2013 08:30

I'm a 28f. I love the cleo juna, it is half cup and gives great cleavage. Also the freya patsy, the spotty half cup. Basically I go for half cup and I have some good boobage going on Grin

TheDoctrineOfSanta · 20/12/2013 08:32

I have been known to wear one if my old, too small bras for a special occasion...

StatisticallyChallenged · 20/12/2013 08:43

It's not impossible its just that often the levels of cleavage shown are caused by being too smsll. I'm normally a 30hh but will confess that I own a 30gg Freya deco purely for cleavage purposes if i am going out at night. It's borderline in the cup and I would only ever wear it with something very plunging where any slight overspill wouldn't show. I wouldn't do this daily though as I can get pretty good cleavage without going too small. My ewa pl and s styles are good for it and when I was a smaller cup the wonderbra I linked gave fab cleavage.

The gossard is good too. I think debenhams stock that, the deco and the wonderbra

StatisticallyChallenged · 20/12/2013 08:43

P.s. Wires are far more likely to pop when the bra is too small
