Comfy high heeled shoes- do they exist? I sound like my mum

To go with a little black dress for a posh do. I am stumpy of stature and usually wear flat boots or pumps! Could anyone point me in the direction of shoes in which I could walk, dance even, and not end up hobbling in agony by the end of the night?

I defy anyone to find some, I'm sure they are mythical beings, like the tears of a unicorn or something Grin

I find irregular choice heels very comfy, but they're quite expensive.
I've never worn stilettos or very high heels, but these are comfy and fab to look at.
I would also recommend using party feet in conjunction :)

I have these ... They are fab

Although they are for a wider fit

MyNameIsSuz · 17/12/2013 22:00

I have very bony feet so struggle with heels as I end up scrunching my toes to make them stay on. I find they are way more comfortable if held on somehow, so either shoes with straps or a nice shoe boot - in fact, my black suede shoe boots are my dressed-up go-to in the winter with a nice dress and some black tights as you can wear socks inside them :)

Otherwise, I've heard people say you should buy dance shoes, not like ballet shoes obviously but the kind you would wear for ballroom or similar, as they are super comfy but still elegant.

Comfy, lovely shoes

MyNameIsSuz · 17/12/2013 22:03

Oh, and in the event that you don't manage to find something ever so comfortable, just make sure you take a bag big enough for a little soft pair of ballet pumps. That way you can change your shoes as soon as everyone's got a couple of drinks inside them and stopped taking photos and your feet will be fine :)

Hotter shoes attract criticism on here, but they are very comfortable, and gave as ejection if evening styles.

I go for chunky jerks rather than stilettos, much easier to move in.

PrincessFlirtyPants · 17/12/2013 22:05

These shoes are very comfortable. They come in a few different colours and are on sale at the moment.

timidviper · 17/12/2013 22:18

Gabor shoes are usually comfortable if they have anything suitable here

Pollydingdonmerrilyonhigh · 17/12/2013 22:22

Clarke s, yes really, lovely styles in heels but really comfy.

FreakinScaryCaaw · 17/12/2013 22:26

Watching with interest.

I go salsa jiving and agree the dance shoes are great. Although you can't wear them outdoors.

meringuesnowflakes33 · 17/12/2013 22:29

Have you tried Clarks or Ecco?

Longleggedlovely · 17/12/2013 22:33

M&s £17.50 black patent mid heels are awesome! I'm on my feet most of the day at work and they do the job great. No sore feet and lovely shoes.

MrsNoodleHead · 17/12/2013 22:35

I wear these Russell and Bromley heels day in, day out at work. I am not good with heels but can wear these for hours without noticing.

NearTheWindmill · 17/12/2013 22:35

Van Dal (yes really) have dressier evening shoes than Gabor. My preference is Peter Kaiser - probably no higher than 2.5 to 3 inches though but very elegant. Remember you will look better if your feet don't hurt because you will smile and it's better to look small and happy than small in high heels and in pain.

FracturedViewOfLife · 17/12/2013 22:38

I made some on the Shoes of Prey website and they are really comfortable. I can't usually do heels.

Aquelven · 17/12/2013 22:55

K shoes. They are the comfier end of Clarks as they're made on a slightly wider last.
Any of these do?

Clarks kendra

FreakinScaryCaaw · 17/12/2013 23:43

Nice.

hollyisalovelyname · 18/12/2013 00:24

The Gabor Fern look lovely

5HundredUsernamesLater · 18/12/2013 00:29

Not sure they will be the style you are after as they are mostly chunky block heels rather then stiletto party heels but the dr marten diva range are very comfortable. Literally Walking on air!

BBQshapes · 18/12/2013 07:29

Seems unbelievable but Kurt Geiger stiletto peep toes are really comfy. Wore them all day and night at a wedding and could still walk after.

FlamingGallah · 18/12/2013 09:13

Wow thank you all so much for those suggestions! Am going to brave the shops today and try M&S (who'd have thought?), Debenhams and Clarks as they're more the price range I wanted for shoes I'll hardly ever wear!

cerealmom those shoes were absolutely, 100% perfect until I saw the price Grin

And the winner is Marks! £17 for a pair of comfy shiny black shoes. I did ruin the bargainaciousness by buying them in nude too Grin

too late, I was going to suggest these, as they have the bar they keep your foot in place and no slipping, I wear them a few times week for work and they are really comfortable.
