I don't know what to wear for me secret wedding

We're eloping!

But I'm swinging between jeans & a jumper just popping out to get married or a pretty dress because even if it's low key it's still a bit of an occasion. Really I think I need something in between. Not properly dressed up, but nice and flattering and a bit special but not all out dressed up

I'm 37, size 16. It's in January so cold and grey

I don't know, going around in circules

A jump suit?

DoItTooBabyJesus · 15/12/2013 12:20

Oh, and congratulations! What a wonderful way to get married!

MichaelFinnigan · 15/12/2013 12:21

Now I do like a jumpsuit. I've got one but it's evening-ey

Is there such a thing as a daytime one. I'll google....

Thank you. We're taking our parents, have told them to meet us for a posh lunch so it'll be a surprise. Eeeek.

What's thrown me off is I saw a vintage rabbit fur (I know I know) cape and it's filled my head with glamorous ideas that aren't actually suitable. And I don't think I could wear fur even if it is old. And people in ye olde days didn't gave GG chests so it wouldn't fit anyway

You could use vintage accessories to glam up?

MichaelFinnigan · 15/12/2013 13:32

I think in reality I'll get something more every day ish

So I need suggestions of places to look, it's ages since I bought clothes

I've tried
Reiss
Jigsaw
Hobbs
J crew

Where else does a nice dress?

I like this on the size 6 model

It's too spendy though

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not grabbed by anything on phase eight but might pop into a store for a better look

I do like that lace one. The striped one is, I think, too dressy perhaps the lace on is too

TK Max have a few options on their website.

Belindaearl2 · 15/12/2013 21:32

B&w or s'thing blue & a huge coat!

MichaelFinnigan · 15/12/2013 21:45

Wow that eBay one looks gorgeous. I wonder what it's like in the flesh? I could eadily get carried away but I'm thinking I'd feel much better in something more Y'know....less weddingy. It's not really a wedding, we're just sneaking off and getting hitched

I like this Ted baker number but not sure it's suit me

I'm struggling because I didn't used to be so big and since having DS and not losing weight I've not bought any clothes

Also colour is a problem, I'm a grey / black / navy type. I'm no good at colour but I definitely don't want black. Grey would be ok. But most coloured things seem too summery Confused

Has anyone used a personal shopper? They have them at John Lewis I think? Perhaps that's an idea
