Going to colour my hair, but what should I us

I've decided I'm bored with my hair colour n need a change

I love the colour of Kate Middletons hair, beautiful.

My hair is a light brown, quite dry and soaks any colour up like a sponge. I often find they come out pretty dark, even medium browns

Can anyone recommend a good colour to try, preferably one I can buy on the high street Smile

Ooh, I am a similar tone to the colour you want, but am also looking to dye my hair a similar shade.

L'oreal castings is fantastic. Good range of colours too.

FabMum1 · 15/12/2013 21:45

Is that a permanent colour?

Also, any colour recommendations?

A hairdresser! Grin

I wish I had time to visit the hairdresser, lol! That's why I'm taking the plunge and doing it myself. A bit nervous about it to be honest.

It's semi permenant so will last about six weeks. I like iced chocolate but there are warmer tones too.

I found iced chocolate to be quite dark but then I am very pale and cool toned. I'm working up to dying mine myself too. The past few times the hairdresser has done it, it's been way warmer than I wanted and faded to orangy ends after two weeks. I never used to get that when I home coloured. Just wish I could remember what I used to use.

Good luck with yours OP.

I'm a dark brown naturally ( a little darker than Kate M) and I go for light brown (casting creme gloss) when I'm doing my horribly greyroots as anything medium seems to go almost black, why not try a lighter shade of a semi and then go darker if needs be?

Strike out fail Blush
