wide, small feet dilemma.

For those of you with wide, small feet, may I ask how you get on with court shoes with heels ( about 3 in)? I'm dying for a pair but I'm afraid they'll fall off and/ or make my feet look pudgy. Any recommendations please?

Oh yes, I have feet like this. I call them trotters!

M&S do half sizes and a wide fitting. I find 3.5 wide fits well, as long as they're not too high. 3 inch should be fine.

I'll admit I get on better with boots though.

I can't wear court shoes either. Shoe boots work or Mary Janes, but mostly I avoid very high heels. I think short feet need proportionally shorter heels - Dh disagrees of course!

Thanks both.I'll try Marksies. Magso you're so right about shorter feet needing shorter heels!

Next of a wide fit too. I prefer a block/wedge type heel rather than stiletto - more flattering.

I'm a wide 4. I tried on a pair of Paul Green court shoes recently. They fit really well despite being a regular fit. The heels were just a little too high for me.

I'm size 4 wide fit & can't do very high heels either. I think we don't have the length of foot to go up a big slope on a high shoe comfortably.
Sounds daft, but if I'm looking for shoes I measure the height of the heel against the length of my longest middle finger. I've found if they're higher than this is long they're uncomfortable.

I'm a wide 4 and find very high heels fine but you do have to find the right pair. I find very high ones with an ankle strap slightly better than those that don't however I have some carvella ones which don't that are fab. They do have to fit well and you must be able to walk in them (too many people have high heels and they can't, I think this is exaggerated if you have small feet)

Duo - as in Duo Boots do width fitting shoes, they are fantastic!!! Not so much in their winter range though. Also check out their outlet website - link from their main website. Best of all you search on size and width and it brings up what they have in stock.

I have these trotters too! If you can find a pair with a slight platform effect at the front it seems to even things out, next do wide shoes like this ( in directory) although some come up huge and you need to drop a shoe size- website comments are usually accurate in which ones.
