I can't recommend this highly enough...

Essie 'as gold as it gets' top coat is totally fab for Christmas-ing up your existing shade of polish with a glittery gold top coat.

It's rock hard and leaves a gorgeous sparkly sheen, which you can layer a couple of times for more effect!

They do a silver and a blue too...I may be back for more!

I also really like Rimmel's new Space Dust. it's incredibly sparkly!

AmberNectarine · 13/12/2013 14:45

I have the Rimmel precious jewels one, and Barry M have a textured glittery one that is also fab.

MissScatterbrain · 13/12/2013 15:49

Is Space Dust textured?

GwendolineMaryLacey · 13/12/2013 15:51

Space Dust feels like gravel and is a bugger to get off but looks lovely.

LazyDoll · 13/12/2013 16:36

I was tempted to try the Space Dust but I like the smoothness of Essie

Essie sparkly topcoats are great. I have Shine of the Times, it's amazing!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps is going to be my festive nail polish this year :)

GwendolineMaryLacey · 13/12/2013 17:27

Oh I likey the ruby pumps.

ElizabethBathory · 13/12/2013 17:29

It's gorgeous Gwendoline and applies really really well. It's a bit darker IRL than that photo I linked, which makes it slightly less garish Grin

ElizabethBathory · 13/12/2013 17:30

this is a better photo

GwendolineMaryLacey · 13/12/2013 17:41

Any more recommendations? I'm on nail polish direct and about to check out!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 13/12/2013 17:46

Too impatient. Just ordered the ruby pumps and essie gold one. I love nail varnish :)

MissScatterbrain · 13/12/2013 17:58

I hate textured polish as my nails then feel a bit weird and are likely to catch on clothes easily (tights, fine knit and silk tops etc). Will check out the Essie ones...

ElizabethBathory · 13/12/2013 18:28

Me too Gwen, how many do you have? I hope it's more than me 40 plus Blush never heard of nail polish direct! Will look.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 13/12/2013 19:10

space dust is like sandpaper - I quite like that!Grin

got the purple and silver ones, hunting for red.

boogiewoogie · 13/12/2013 20:17

If you're on a budget then I highly recommend Sugar Sugar by Sinful Colors which has a subtler glittery shimmer to it than Ruby Pumps.

MissScatterbrain · 13/12/2013 20:52

Been out to Boots...none left from Essie but bougHt tHis from Barry M but in red - tinsel town

Its sligHtly gritty but looks fantastiC on top of my berry nails.

MissScatterbrain · 14/12/2013 08:16

Tinseltown is actually clear but with Christmassy coloured sparkly strands and is best used on top of another colour.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 14/12/2013 10:37

I threw out about 50 when I decided that I needed my drawer back and I was never ever going to wear those colours again! I don't even have enough of my life left to wear the colours I love. And Christmas is way too short for all the lovely festive sparkly ones Xmas Sad

GwendolineMaryLacey · 19/12/2013 18:01

My Ruby Pumps and Essie gold turned up on Tues. I've got Ruby Pumps on one thumb only because I'm saving it for Christmas day but wanted to, er... test it Xmas Grin It's absolutely lovely, red and sparkly and gorgeous. Good work ElizabethBathory Xmas Grin
