can anyone help me find a bag? I am *very* fussy, and not rich...

my requirements are:

• not black, brown, tan or red
• must be waterproof (don't mind if not leather)
• I would like a long strap to wear over my shoulder or cross body
• large enough to fit a bottle of water, a5 diary and notebook, and the usual assorted crap
• I would like it to fasten with a zip, or a fold over flap, not a magnetic popper thing, as I have had my purse lifted out of a popper-closure bag.
• must be a bit slouchy. I am a scruff and look weird with a structured bag.

budget £150.

thank you, that's a definite maybe, although would prefer a longer, satchel style strap IYSWIM. but given that I've seen nothing, I might get that one if there's a further discount in the January sale

Have you tried TK Maxx? They have an amazing selection of bags.

I've got a leather bag that fits all of those criteria bar color from white stuff for 55 pounds (full price, I loved it and didn't know about discount codes then). Has been used daily for work for three years and still looks great.

In RL, the straps are longer (which means you can adjust it to hang lower or higher), the leather is very nice, and I am pretty sure it comes in a burgundy colour. In fact, I am certain it comes in burgundy. I'm doubting myself now, because it isn;t anywhere on the website ...

Have you seen the Mai Tui bags, I think they tick all your boxes, lots of choices, fab quality and you could get 2 or 3 for your budget. Sorry can't do links but just google them. They are marketed as mummy bags but are just incredibly sensible and full of useful things like built in waterproof, insulated bottle holder!

I love the Fossil Explorer Totes (foldover) - I think the sale price is slightly over your budget, but they're always on ebay, and in the outlet shops.

what I really, really want is the very smallest Longchamp Le pliage cuir, but I really do not have £260. I wouldn't mind a nylon one but they don't have the long strap.

the fossil is a great colour but might just be too big? i am being insanely fussy, I know.

I do quite like a couple of the Mai Tui bags, and really like the aubergine colours.

I do struggle with tkmaxx though. everyone I know seems to find lovely things in there, but whenever I look, and I do really rummage, it's all brown a-line skirts and shell suits .
