Posh frock for a pot belly - help!

Got a black tie do in a couple of weeks and have absolutely nothing suitable to wear. Courtesy of 3 c sections and a pathological love of cake, I have a horrible saggy tummy and could really do with losing a couple of stone. Realistically that's unlikely to happen in the next 2 weeks Grin, can anyone recommend any nice evening dresses? My boobs are ok but everything else could probably do with being shrouded in mystery!

Thanks in advance

www.coast-stores.com/fcp-product/2143437387?
I think a bit of draping & control pants do wonders.
But wait for the experts..

To accentuate boobs and minimize belly something like

this shape?

FlamingGallah · 11/12/2013 14:47

Thank you ladies! If that Coast one had some cleavage rather than boat neck, that would be absolutely perfect! I will look at the Coast website

Thanks Jolly, that one's not really me, I'm short and curvy and think would drown a bit in that. But really grateful for the suggestions!

Do you want knee length then, like a cocktail dress?

JollySantersSelectionBox · 11/12/2013 14:51

so something this shape perhaps? I don't work for RI btw

Smile

Ooh I like both of those, thank you! Long or knee length is fine, but nothing shorter due to my footballers knees (I'm a real catch Grin)

Might order both of those and try on at home. Keep 'em coming, it's all going on the credit card...

www.johnlewis.com/jigsaw-infinity-bead-flapper-dress-dark-navy/p863090. This is gorgeous but horribly expensive.

FlamingGallah · 11/12/2013 15:08

Knowing my luck I'd try that £300 one on and then get baby puke all over the shoulder

www.johnlewis.com/l-k-bennett-paolina-dress-cream-black/p78320 I'm fantasy shopping now!

www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/phase-eightLatoya-Lace-Miracle-Dress/202371050. Not low cut but looks flattering?

FlamingGallah · 11/12/2013 15:57

Bah, River Island out of stock in my size. Not sure if it's coincidence or the Mumsnet effect! Guess I'll find out if I turn up and everyone else is wearing it

Phase eight has a dress similar to the first coast one with lower neck and full length. Can't think of the name though. Will head off to look it up.

dazzlingdeborahrose · 11/12/2013 21:44

Couldn't find the one I was thinking of but the Clarissa is lovely (and on sale). The Donna and the minueta are lovely too. Nicely cut with a bit of drapery frippery to hide anything you'd rather wasn't on show Grin

FlamingGallah · 11/12/2013 22:37

Love the colour of the Clarissa one, another frock on the credit card! Going to have to make sure DH doesn't see bill until I've returned most of them...
