I get married in two months and have nothing to wear!

At this point I'd love to tell you I'm a 19 year old size 10 with a huge budget. Sadly I'm early 30s, about a size 20 and willing to spend up to £250.

It's a town hall job, just us and witnesses, followed by lunch in London. We're having a party after so I could wear it then, too.

Having looked for dresses I am utterly depressed. Sad There must be other fat woman who want nice clothes?! I've looked on Liberty, Selfridges, Harrods etc and even if I had triple the budget there is very little. I may well give up and wear whatever is clean on the day. But it seems a shame not to make an effort even if it's just the four of us on the day.

I need sleeves, I always wear black opaques. I have some low wedge black suede ankle boots I can wear. I like simple styles in black, grey and navy. I'd be very grateful for any ideas.

lacy?

Vivienne westwood

wrap

Vivienne Westwood does lots of long sleeved sexy dresses around your price point in your size which would look fab. Lots seem to be sold out but will keep looking!
Congratulations Smile

Ps don't wear whatever is clean on the day. You MUST have a new frock!

I got married in one of these www.curvety.com/bridal-c3 .

What about this? There are other nice dresses on ASOS Curve without sleeves, would you be willing to wear them with a wrap? And why not try wearing coloured opaques for more of a party look?

This is pretty and has a matching shrug - if you're willing to wear a shrug with a sleeveless dress, there are a lot more options. You really do need a special dress though, please don't just wear whatever's clean!

I am a size 22-24 so I do feel your pain at looking for nice clothes that aren't black polyester sacks.

Some lovely dresses there, loads on curvety which are gorgeous! Nothing specific to add except to say find something fabulous! I am sure it's possible and congratulations! Smile

Thanks all! I will check out the links when I get to a computer later. Smile

Re length, I prefer below the knee, mid length type stuff and tend to find ASOS Curve stuff often comes up quite short. I would go sleeveless or wear a cardigan or jacket or something, yes.

this one may be a bit long but given the price you could treat yourself to a glam pashmina or some fab jewellery

Monsoon have some nice dresses at the moment. I usually find their stuff a bit too floaty/frilly, but they have some more elegant styles as well. They do up to size 22.

I wore a Coast dress for my wedding. They only go up to size 18, but might be worth trying depending on the style and on your shape (I found their dresses sometimes a bit tight across the hips, but more generous on top.)
