Do people still wear strapless dresses (to Xmas party)?

Hi, I found a nice old dress in my wardrobe but I don't know if it's a really dated style. Do people still wear those Coast-type strapless, slightly boned dresses? The shape is like this one (on ebay) but it's a bit fancier - white with applique flowers.

Also (part b) - even if not absurdly unfashionable, am I too old?? (36).

I really do think that looks dated OP. Sorry.

It's the style combined with the black and white. Very wedding guest circa 1999.

I'm not sure if it's dated, but if it fits you well, is flattering and you feel good in it ,surely that's better than something current but not those things. At our Xmas do a friend wore a similar shaped strapless black dress and looked stunning. If you feel confident in it I'd wear it and enjoy the party. I don't think you're too old for it but strapless always needs good posture.

Your not too old - and it's not that dated!

But I would freeze to death in it!

I think with red shoes, red lippy and a wee jacket along the lines of this it could still work. It could easily look very dated with straight styling.

hate strapless dresses. maybe because I am narrow across the back and they never fit

White with appliqué flowers sounds a bit summery for a Christmas party. I like strapless frocks, but you have to have the arms and shoulders to carry them off.
