Hair bands etc for a 9 year old that are not glittery, satin or in garish colours?

My 9 year old DD is (thankfully) quite fussy about her hair bands etc. and she doesn't like what they have in Claire's or Accessorize. I have some times been able to pick up some decent things from Sainsburys, but she thinks they are for little girls now ;)

She would like Boden-style hair accessories, but as Boden doesn't have a hair accessories range, who does?

Next and John Lewis have pretty things.I agree that Boden should do hair accessories.

have you looked in boots?

Home bargains had loads of Babyliss hair clips etc in for 39p Shock

Joules have some pretty hair bands and slides in at the moment.

Will try Next, just had a look at John Lewis, nothing she liked. I tried Boots, no good either ;) Might have a look in Home Bargains.

I didn't know Joules did hair accessories, will have a look.

Thanks!

COS. Very Scandinavian but definitely for girls.

I was going to suggest cos too, especially at sale time. Hair accessories are very reasonably priced. Also zara or j crew but £££.

I bought some lovely felt flowers for my daughter from www.lottienottie.com. Very Boden.

MmeLindor · 13/01/2014 00:15

I'd have a look at Etsy or Folksy for handmade hair accessories.

H&M for patterned ones. If your DD's hair is very thick/resists being tied up then the Goody strong hair bands are brilliant - I have extremely thick hair and have to tie it up in warm weather to stop me from getting a heat rash on the back of my neck, and the Goody bands stay in perfectly. Primark's thicker hair bands are actually pretty good too, and come in lots of colours not just very girly ones (in the adult women's accessories section).
