I have just improvised some strapless tops out of elasticated waist skirts...

and I reckon I can probably get away with it in public too. Straps and tight things are driving me crazy in this heat. My skirt-tops even cover my thickened waist and flabby tum.I do need a strapless bra with them, so its not totally liberating, but I think I've just doubled my available wardrobe without spending a bean.

Are you going to cut the arms off your t shirts?

bran · 18/07/2006 12:14

Are you going to get a second opinion from a brutally honest friend before you do go out in public like that? I would.

MrsBadger · 18/07/2006 12:17

Fio, I remember having a clothkits sundress that did this - once it got too short you took off the shoulder straps and made it into a skirt.

[have just rummaged for a picture to show what I meant, and blow me, someone's got one on ebay ]

well yes I promise I'll get a brutal second opinion before venturing further than the corner shop - currently wearing what was a bias cut cotton short skirt over cropped khakis - It does look a bit maternity its true - but I'm hoping in a funky slightly fifties way....
