Where can I get some knickers that will make me firm of buttock?

I got a lovely dress from Coast and it is slightly clingy at the back so I want to create the illusion of firm smooth arse and not what is currently there .

Am off to investigate M&S after, anyone got any of their stuff?

Ta.

I have got some M&S magic knickers, they were £20 but they are fab. Mine are the ones with legs in though as I am thunderous of thigh, but they do two or three different types iirc.

MrsBadger · 18/07/2006 10:20

I have an M&S 'light support' low-leg pair (called Trouser Knickers or some such) that are v good for no-VPL and smoothness, but I wouldn't say they actively firm. Guess their Firm Control stuff would be, um, firmer. They have those cycling short things as well if you can bear the thought.

charliecat · 18/07/2006 10:22

BHS have that sort of stuff in the sale right now...quick run!

oliveoil · 18/07/2006 10:25

I am slim but have cellulite, grrr boo hisss so don't want any wibbling going on from behind.

Dh says I look fine but he is blinded by love [vomit emoticon] so his opinion does not count.

Magic Knickers were the ones I looked at on Saturday I think, dh was disgusted with them, ha!

Mine are the cycling short ones MrsB

Not exactly sexy but brill for getting rid of cellulite under fitted clothes. Make me feel more confident as I know I look better with them underneath. Be careful to get them big enough though, if they are even slightly too small you end up with rolls of flesh around the waist and at mid thigh.

Might be a bit sweaty in this weather too!

If there is going to be a bit of action after the night out I will, erm, slip into something more comfortable when I get home

oliveoil · 18/07/2006 10:45

I have no rolls of spare flesh I'll have you know madame!!!

The cheek.

what about spanx would they give you a firmer bottom???

oliveoil · 18/07/2006 10:48

are these the things?????

OP posts:
fuzzywuzzy · 18/07/2006 10:53

these

JackieNo · 18/07/2006 10:55

You might want to go for the smoothest finish, too, so that the dress slides over it - those M&S ones look like it might cling to it. And avoid trim, is you can, or it might create bumps.

oliveoil · 18/07/2006 10:57

okey dokey

The dress is a crepey sort of one, is on the Coast website but in a huge line up so I can't link.

oo obviously these pants are obviously not a fashion statement, but they do hold things in, i have some and they stop all that wibbling under a linen dress i have

CheesyFeet · 18/07/2006 11:00

LOL oliveoil, I wasn't trying to inmply that you did, but I definitely do!

Yes, that's them, only mine are flesh coloured. I suppose some fabrics could cling to them, but I've never had that problem myself.

oliveoil · 18/07/2006 11:01

you have the m&s? they are cheaper than the spanx

oliveoil · 18/07/2006 11:04

dh will prob have to help me remove them, like you need help getting wellies off, lol.

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 18/07/2006 11:09

check the Next website now for necklace, bag and ring so if they have possible-looking ones you can grab them when you get the girls' shoes.
ditto M&S website if you're going there for pants anyway.

Can always take them back at your leisure if they turn out to be no good.

Which Coast dress is it? The short red crepe one?

bundle · 18/07/2006 11:09

have you got superdrug? they sometimes have nice jewellery by the till - oh and i got nice chunky necklace in m&s too so you could get some while pant shopping

oliveoil · 18/07/2006 11:11

I am thinking of hitting TopShop for their Freedom jewellery, it is Next to next (!!!).

The dress is called Aruba or somehting, next to a dummy that has her arm on her hip with a white top and beige pants. Will try to find another link.

It is lovely, £85 but has sort of ruching over the tummy to hide any signs of greed after wedding blow out.

under collection, nine in from the right hand side if you can be bothered

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 18/07/2006 11:14

gotcha - very good dress
check out the Topshop website too - nothing like planning shopping in advance when you've only got a lunch hour to do it in.
