Men's white denim shirt?

Need to get an extra xmas present for DH and I thought a new denim shirt would be good. He has a medium blue and a dark blue one that he wears open over t'shirts, so I thought a bleached blue or white shirt might look good?

I found one in Forever21, but at 38 I think it might be a bit young for him! The cut was a bit short and fitted, has anyone seen a normal bleached denim shirt about, or is that more of a summer thing? Is chambray the same as denim? I've seen some of those online but hard to tell from the pics.

Chambray is much lighter weight fabric than denim. If you want white it would probably be better than denim. I dont think I've ever seen a white denim shirt and I can't imagine it working tbh.
