Please please please will you help me find a party tunic?

I need some sort of party outfit but I have absolutely nothing. If I buy a pretty dress I will also have to buy shoes as I don't own any, I only have boots. I don't go out much at all so I really don't want to spend too much. I was thinking perhaps a beautiful special classy tunic to wear with good quality leggings and high heeled boot (which I already have) would be more me.

I am short (5.1" I think), size 8 from the waist up and size 10 from the waist down. I have long blonde (highlighted) hair and I've just turned 40 although I look much younger.

I don't want to wear anything too flamboyant or over the top with lace and too much sparkle, I definitely want sleeves, nothing too baggy, figure fitting would probably suit me better....

I don't want to spend too much (around £50 or is that too little?) but I don't want to look cheap either. I haven't shopped for clothes for myself for so long I don't even know where to start. Will you help me please?Xmas Smile

I know you said no sequins, but this is lovely and available in a size 8

mummylovescakes · 06/12/2013 09:32

Sorry - just noticed you said you wanted sleeves!

and here

also this one

H&M - loads here that might suit

Quite like this from Next

Hi mummy. I love every single thing you've linked to with the exception of the Next dress, but those colours won't suit me at all. The Mint Velvet tunic is stunning but I can't pull of the colour and yes, no sleeves is a no no for me.

When I was younger I didn't mind buying from Next or H&M (thanks sparkly) and I felt okay, but now I don't pull off cheaper fabrics anymore. I end up looking really drab and... well, cheap.

Sequins and beads would be okay, it is Christmas after all, just not toooooooo many Xmas Smile

That M&Co tunic is really pretty. Lovely beading.
