Tube skirts - what shoes?!

Hello all - hope you can inspire me!

I've just bought two lovely double layer tube skirts. This one: m.topshop.com/mt/www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=33057&storeId=12556&productId=11325113&langId=-1&un_jtt_v_unRecId=72294164814 and the same in black.

I had a lovely DD 6 weeks ago and am still breastfeeding, so I'm containing my wobbly tummy and J cup breastfeeding boobs in loose layers.

So ... What shoes?! I have these uk.drmartens.com/uk/Womens/Womens-Boots/Dr-Martens-Mayen-Boot/p/15551601 which look better than I thought, but I've seen a lot of ankle boots in the sale. Are they what I should be wearing?

I prefer flats as I'm already tall and intend to walk a lot with the pram ... So suede isn't practical either.

Any ideas?

If it's relevant, I'm 5'10, a 14-16, and curvy with good legs.

TIA.

Ooh nice skirt, maybe something like this m.schuh.co.uk/product.aspx?icode=1473586220

Congrats on the baby!

Ooh - nice! Was hoping for some suggestions that were very different to my usual style. After months and months of maternity wear I'm a bit out of the fashion loop.

Maybe I'll just go shopping in my new skirt and give some stuff a go ...

I love those boots, the skirts are nice as well and I'm sure they will look great with the boots.

Congratulations on the birth of your DD Thanks

I have exactly the same skirts ! I wear mine with either flat biker boots and a chunky jumper or sometimes for work if I want to look smartish I wear knee high riding style boots with the black one and a black polo neck jumper.

My friend wears hers with a silky blouse and shoe boots but she's trendier and skinnier than me Grin

AnythingNotEverything · 06/12/2013 11:39

See, I was thinking about shoe boots but I'm not sure I'm cool enough Wink

I wear mine with ankle boots, biker boots, doc marten 1914s, slipper flats and with heels for work. They really are pretty versatile items of clothing!

I live in my top shop double layer tube skirts! currently with Office Uncanny ankle boots, but also with monkstrap brogues.

LlamateurDramatics · 06/12/2013 15:22

Love the skirt, is it fairly flattering or do you need to have toned legs/bum to pull it off? what I'm trying to say is does it hide a lardy arse?

Floisme · 06/12/2013 16:54

I've got the same skirt and I wear it with flat biker boots too.

Llama, although I'm quite slim, I'm not at all well toned plus I'm a bit pear shaped and yes, I do think they're flattering. They kind of suck you in and give you a great shape. And if in doubt, you can always add big pants. That's provided you go for the double layered ones (like in the link). In my experience, the single layer ones are totally unforgiving!

AnythingNotEverything · 06/12/2013 17:55

I didn't check my rear view in the changing rooms but it was flattering from the front!

I have some single layer ones from H&M and you definitely have to size up in those.

I just bought the same skirt ! Wore it with tan ankle boots, and cream sweater
Have plans to wear it with black pony skin ballet flats

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/12/2013 11:23

I wear mine with opaques and heeled ankle boots or Chelsea boots. I wouldn't wear knee boots unless the skirt was well above the knee.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/12/2013 11:24

And with heels for work.
