What do you think this dress and these shoes would look like for a night out?

This dress

Long black leggings (can't do bare legs)

These shoes

Plus chunky silver bangles and not sure where to wear a necklace or anything?

Does it look ok or am I going to look ridiculous?? I am a complete fashion buffoon and completely out of my comfort zone as they say!

Not ridiculous at all! I like the dress. Not sure about the leggings going with it and the shoes though??

piratecat · 05/12/2013 13:52

you'll look lovely, tho i'd be inclined to swap the leggings for really thick tights.

i have to go out in a week and will be wearing something similar, i never wear dresses. I still havent found shoes tho. i like those but too high for me. am thinking shoe boots. Cheap too, as strapped. If you see any let me know!

Treadmillmom · 05/12/2013 13:53

The dress is nice, the shoes are nice, the accessorising sounds good too but definitely not leggings. How about sheer tights?

BunnyLebowski · 05/12/2013 13:53

Dress is fine.

I don't like the shoes and leggings are all wrong. Black opaques are what you need.

Beeyump · 05/12/2013 13:54

But black opaques wouldn't work with those shoes, would they?

BunnyLebowski · 05/12/2013 13:55

I meant with , non peep-toe shoes!

Beeyump · 05/12/2013 14:04

Ah sorry Bunny, that was me being dense.

iwouldgoouttonight · 05/12/2013 14:14

Thanks all. I'm glad you all like the dress because I've bought that. I'm just wavering on the shoes/leggings/tights combo. Was going to go for red or bright blue shoes and black tights, but all the ones I've seen are really really high and pointy and I can barely walk in them. I just saw the silver ones in Matalan on my lunch break and wondered if they might go but thought I couldn't wear tights because of peep toe issue, which is why I was thinking of leggings. So leggings are a no no then?

I also liked them because they are wide fitting, not toooo high and also quite cheap! I haven't seen any silver sparkly shoes with closed toes yet so maybe need to hunt some out.

The other option, although I've not tried these on, are these in red - would they look ok with black tights? They come in wide fitting too.

What about these wide fit, mid heel, sparkly, non pointy toe.

iwouldgoouttonight · 05/12/2013 16:05

sweetheart I like those. They're the exact shape/style I want I think. I think I just fancied something other than black - which is why I was looking at the silver ones.

So they would be ok with black opaque tights do you think? And then what kind of necklace?

Unfortunately dress, leggings and heels are an absolute no-go now. I wish this wasn't the case as I have awful legs and leggings are so comfy! Black tights will look lovely with the silver shoes although I love the idea of a bright coloured shoe with the black tights and dress especially if you found a matching clutch!

mrssmith79 · 05/12/2013 16:19

I think it would work, yes. But footless tights rather than leggings, they sometimes look a bit bulky with the leg seams and waistband. Primary is your friend for a good pair.

mrssmith79 · 05/12/2013 16:21

*primark.

FauxFox · 05/12/2013 17:17

glitter non peep wide heels

iwouldgoouttonight · 05/12/2013 21:19

Fauxfox they're nice, and tick all the boxes. I'm going into town tomorrow to try some on, and i'm not coming back without a nice, quite cheap, wide pair of sparkly shoes!
