2 days to learn to walk in heels....

Can it be done? :)

The only nice pair of black court shoes I could find in a hurry have huge heels! Years ago (20 +) I wore them all the time. Now I feel like I'm walking like a duck!! Luckily most of the evening will involve sitting but as the drink flows I'm going to want to have a boogie.
The girl in the shop assured me that I looked ok, but I'm not sure....
Any tips for a nervous heel novice appreciated! :)
TIA

Small steps, head up, don't stare at the ground.
If you look like your confident wearing them, you'll pull it off!

I watched a video that described it really well. It basically said to imagine Barbie's foot and how it's permanently flexed into a tip toe position. Try to think of your foot like that and keep your toes in that Barbie position. When you walk go heel->Barbie toe, heel->Barbie toe. Start off very deliberately. It will look like a bit of a swagger to begin with but it's better than the alternative thunderbird walk that can happen. Good luck!

There are some great videos on Youtube. I learnt from there when I had to wear heels for the very first time last year, I am 5'10" and had literally never put a pair on before.
