Party Shoes

But if you like, which colour would you choose?

I have a yen for them, but I'm 44 on Sunday, am I too old?

I don't like them much. They look like little girls' party shoes.

BlameItOnTheBogey · 04/12/2013 22:29

I don't like them either. Too Wizard of Oz.

Ziggyzoom · 04/12/2013 22:30

Do you have a blue gingham dress and pig tails to go with it? Grin

You did ask to be talked out of them!

Catrin · 04/12/2013 22:30

I am all for buying shoes that make you happy, however…no. Unless you are indeed into the Lindy hop, I suspect that they will make your legs look stumpy due to the height of heel and shape of the toe. Additionally, I cannot imagine what you would wear them with.
Having said that, if you have the cash to spare and they delight you, go for it!

HoHoHopasholic · 04/12/2013 22:30

Well, there's no place like home busyboysmum Grin

You are not too old!

Pancakeflipper · 04/12/2013 22:31

Accessories - basket, doggie

Slainte · 04/12/2013 22:32

Sorry, I think they're too sickly-sweet, like a 5 year old's shoes.

RayPurchase · 04/12/2013 22:32

They're rank, dont buy them! :)

busyboysmum · 04/12/2013 22:32

Not the red then? Smile

I know, I need to grow up. I just love shoes like these they make me think of dancing shoes.

tracypenisbeaker · 04/12/2013 22:32

i wouldn't choose the red ones, you'll be inundated with 'Dorothy' comments all night. The mixed coloured glitter ones are the nicest.

But seeing as I'm supposed to talk you out of buying them- don't buy them.

Gnocchgnocch · 04/12/2013 22:33

Absolutely black and purple!

lifesgreatquestions · 04/12/2013 22:35

Go for it op, they are fabulous and the thought that came to mind was it is just the sort of thing that should be on a bucket list, to wear a really amazing, show stopping pair of shoes, especially in ones 40s!!! And the others are being silly, you can absolutely pair them with a gorgeous, adult, dress!

No, happily married for 20 years, hubby loves me in anything bless him.

I have a Vivienne Westwood red clingy Anglomania dress that I was thinking of teaming the silvery ones with.

OP posts:
UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 04/12/2013 22:40

I would buy those in a heartbeat. In fact I would buy the whole range of colours... Smile

InTheFace · 04/12/2013 22:45

I think a Vivienne Westwood (style) dress is just about the only thing you could pull these off with at 40. They'd look fabulous! But thing is that red dress + silver shoes is a bit to matchy-matchy imho. It just looks naice, like a well coordinated M&S outfit. I reckon Vivienne herself might go with a more interesting combination...

Blueuggboots · 04/12/2013 22:47

There are MUCH nicer shoes than these!
They are far too Dorothy.
Don't buy them.

Bunbaker · 04/12/2013 22:50

That's easy - they are truly hideous. I agree about the Dorothy connection as that was the first thing I thought of as well.

burnishedsilver · 04/12/2013 22:54

Yuck.

busyboysmum · 04/12/2013 23:06

Can anyone link me to some lovely party shoes that would go well with my red dress please? I clearly need direction.

OP posts:
Financeprincess · 05/12/2013 00:13

Don't ruin a gorgeous dress with those shoes!!

Have you looked in Zara? They have some nice trotters in.
