My husband wants some smart brown shows for christmas. They are to wear in the day to business meetings etc where he'll be needing to impress potential clients. The shoes just need to be stylish but not fashiony, and right for a man of 40 (not too elderly, not too young). Which of these do you think would look better please:

Thanks!

Number 2 for me. Number 3 too fashiony (is that even a word?!) and will last 5 minutes compared to Loakes.

Agree, no2 for all the same reasons.

Twinklestein · 05/12/2013 00:29

No 1 by far. No 2 are a bit square, No 3 look cheap & they're too long.

1 on looks
DH would say 3, he literally has to be dragged into shoe shops when his are in pieces. He would rather turn the money into computer bits.

We did really well last time, Clarks had a sale and he voluntarily left with two pairs (one of which I've hidden for when he actually has to look smart).

Non they all look a bit frumpy , have you looked on grensons they have some lovely styles

Wafflesnaffler · 05/12/2013 10:58

Thankyou everyone, that's very helpful. Confirmed my thoughts that 3 is not a good idea. I like 2 best but think DH might like 1 - shame I can't see them in real life. Thanks for the Grensons idea buttercrumble, will take a look.
