Can anyone up-style this dress?

Basically i bought this dress Whistles because it's comfortable, looks fab, and will get a lot of use! However it's not very dressy and the event I'm going to requires it to be dressy! I have these shoes Hobbs from last year which do manage to dress it up, and a clutch bag but I feel a statement necklace of some kind is needed!

In my minds eye I can see an asymmetric style, with large, bevelled, grey glass chunks! I think I've seen something around but can't find it! Has anyone seen something like this? Or any alternative suggestions/words of wisdom? Thanks!

How about something from here?

OwlMother · 04/12/2013 20:05

Thank you! There are some lovely things here. Unfortunately I need something by the weekend so I think it'll have to be high street.

It's my friend's website so if you did want something more quickly and/or live in London, she could probably sort you out.

What shops are you near?

OwlMother · 04/12/2013 22:03

Most standard high street ones - do most shopping in Edinburgh.

Would this work, do you think?

I think that one is a bit fussy/pretty for a body con style dress, but can't really offer you an alternative. I recently bought a couple of fab statement necklaces from H&M but that's possibly a bit cheap and cheerful for you. It's worth a trawl if you are in town.

Or this? Coast

I'll have a look in H and M. Thanks for your help - accessorising is really not my thing!

It's not mine either, I don't usually wear jewellery so it's hard and for that reason cheap and cheerful for the very rare night out works for me!

To wear with black whistles dress.

I'm not sure if you are looking for something more delicate but I like

Thank you both! I really like the pink H and M one and the Mint Velvet one looks really fab. Think I'll have to pop into town tomorrow to try and see things in real life!

OP I think Anthropologie is by far the nicest and most striking, I'd go with that. And silver shoes...

Try Zara too. They have some nice statement necklaces in!
