Can anyone recommend a good blonde hair dye?

Hi, I usually have my hair highlighted at the hairdressers but at the moment with a small baby and with no spare cash there is no way I can do this. I feel gross with ever increasing darker roots and different layers of colour from the past.

I have never done it myself at home though apart from a wash-in, wash-out one as a teenager which made my hair look grey (supposed to be 'ash blonde') and sun-in also as a teenager (!) My hair is naturally now a dark blonde colour and I am wary of it going ginger/brassy/grey/platinum bleach blonde. Can anyone recommend a brand of hair dye? And if it goes horribly wrong, can I get it sorted out by going to the hairdresser? I just want it to be a nice natural blonde colour.

My mum loves this stuff:
www.johnfrieda.co.uk/homecolour/precision-foam-colour/shades.aspx
She uses 10N and loves the result. It's a foam/ mousse (permanent) which she finds very easy to use (and her hairdresser even says how good and even the coverage and how natural the colour!)
It's currently on offer at third off at Boots (£6.66 instead of £9.99.)

Really the brand is irrelevant.. They all have the same ingredients. It depends on your hair how it will turn out

Ok thanks, I will check that one out. Smile
