If anyone is looking for a pair of cheap but decent winter/snow boots

I've just bought these boots and they're pretty decent. Warm, a good fit, and seem to have a decent sole. Obviously they're only £20-£25 so couldn't say whether they'd last more than one winter, but I've been looking for ages for a sturdy pair to wear too and from work with plenty of walking, and I'm really happy with these. I think there are quite a few different Amazon and eBay shops selling them.

They look really nice and could be just what I'm after...how waterproof do you think they will be? Appreciate that at that price they aren't high performance all weather boots but do you think they will stand up to a decent covering of snow on the school run?

ThurlHoHoHow · 03/12/2013 10:41

They are a leathery feel, so I reckon they'd cope quite well with rain and snow. I'm going to give mine a good spray with that waterproof spray though just to give them an extra boost. The sole has a good grip and with the fleece lining I think they'd manage a school run. The sizing isn't enormous - I'm a 3 to 4 and the 4 is a snug fit, which doesn't always happen with boots.

Many thanks think I may order a pair !

They look fab, and just what I am after. How wide do they come up? I have very wide feet, plus bunions, which is a nice combination Smile

They're reasonably wide - they certainly feel looser on my feet than my calves. The fleece lining is nice and soft too.

There lovely, can anyone tell me how big they are around the leg?

ThurlHoHoHow · 05/12/2013 07:24

They've got this strap at the back so you can make them wider - I'm short so I haven't played with it, but I think they would go quite wide?

Can I throw Next girls' snow boots into the mix for anyone up to (I think) an adult size 6? They've got some on the website for approx £25. I'd link but am feeding DD and typing with the wrong hand.

HappyAsEyeAm · 05/12/2013 09:20

ooh. These look very promising.

Mintymoomoo · 05/12/2013 10:42

Thurs hohoho thanks for reply, I have other problem my calf are very slim, I measure about 33cm so don't want anything that's huge, but if it's only. Inch or two will get away with some thick socks x

ThurlHoHoHow · 05/12/2013 11:11

Oh, should be fine then - I'm only 5'1 and slim, they fit really well around my legs, in fact I was thinking about loosening them!
