Please help me style gurus

I've been looking for an outfit for a couple of months but because of breastfeeding and post baby flabs I've put off buying anything until a couple of weeks ago, and nothing I get looks right. I'm mid 30s, size 10-12 with a mum tum and 5'4". For modesty reasons, I cover my arms and legs. I bought black high waisted skinny jeans from red herring and a peach satin wrap blouse with jewelled cuffs from Dorothy Perkins - looked awful. I also tried various dresses but as have to wear them with leggings or a long sleeved top underneath, also don't look right. I got a brown/black animal print tunic (star by Julian McDonald) to wear with leggings and patent court shoes, but my husband doesnt like it. I don't know what to wear!! We're going to the theatre and then to a fine dining restaurant, so I don't thing sparkles would be appropriate.

Thanking in advance Thanks

How about a decent, structured frock? Have you looked in Karen Millen and Reiss?

Can you change the leggings to black tights for a more elegant look? Also I have a lovely black lace jacket from next that I wear over tops but would you be happy with your arms showing under the lace?

Why don't you pair a nice dress with thick black tights and wear a sparkly jacket or blazer over the top?

Finance- do you mean a classic cut dress of a thicker material by structured? Blush

Holiday and Skinhead, yes tights would look better, you're right. A lace jacket would be ok as long as my tattoo doesn't show through. I think sparkly would be too much (but I do love a bit of sparkle)

Today is my last chance to shop and my choices of shops are New Look, Peacocks, Dorothy Perkins, Next, M&S, M&Co!
