Hair dye advice please - Is Castings any good?

I've used Colour B4 about 6 weeks ago, my hair is medium to dark brown, and finally has got the old hair dye out.

Its not a very exciting colour naturally, i was hoping its gleam andshine would carry it off but its a bit of a dishwater colour... rather than using a permanent dye that will need roots doing and have more obv root growth,I was thinking of using castings as they sem to be semi permanent andhave nice colours..

any advice?

What colour is your hair now and what colour do you want to use on it? I use Castings on my hair to cover a few greys and it works well. If you keep it close to your natural colour you don't get much roots showing but if I use a reddish one (I have dark brown hair) I do get noticeable roots.

My SIL is a hairdresser and recommended Castings to me. Its easy to use, colour is good and the conditioner in the pack makes my hair really shiny.

Tesco had them on 3 for 2 a few weeks ago. hth.

Ha ha, just got up extra early to put a colour on my hair - Castings Dark Brown!
So far, very easy to use, no drips, smells ok & no mess in the bathroom.
Looks quite dark but imagine it'll fade quite quickly...

I'll let you know what it's like when I've dried it :)

Very very dark :0

Chose a lighter shade!

At least it'll wash/fade out (hopefully)
:)

thanks for posts!

Think I'll get a castings after my haircut this week woohooo!

Ijust want iot to 'pepup' my own hair colour. stillstanding51... I've made the dark brown mistake before, thinking it would merely make my pale ghostly skin look porcelein white, instead I looked deathly!

I use it all the time to cover grey inbetween permanant colour - go lighter, it always comes up much darker and even more so after colour B4 as hair is so much more porous and it will really 'grab' any colour.

I've used every hair dye known to man, and I hate Casting. It sucked all the moisture out of my hair.
